we stayed here four nigths. large rooms, nice ambiance, historical building (1910), which is in good condition, feels like going back in time 100 years, friendly staff, good breakfast, no sounds of street traffic at all, great pool for the kids, sauna etc.. will come back again when visiting surabaya.

I would return to this hotel tomorrow!!! Wonderful staff, beautiful pool and gardens and a fantastic buffet. Oasis in the middle of the city. Mega malls across the street for shopping. Everyone who works here has a smile every time we passed. One of are all time best experiences at a hotel. Rooms were large and comfortable, paatio in front to just relax. Spa facilities for men and women.

beautiful old hotel, superbly maintained - friendly and helpful staff. across from mega malls, an oasis of tranquility in the middle of a large city. the breakfast buffet included asian and western delights and wonderful coffee. we spent 5 nights and still didn't want to leave. our room was huge with a patio to sit on in the mornings. be sure to ask to see the president's suite (two story house). fitness center with perdonal trainers and separate spas for men and women. two restaurants.
Travel tip:
Worth it to ask for an upgrade.

What a great hotel!

I had never stayed overnight in Surabaya before and selected the hotel only based on the Agoda reviews - I was not disappointed.
Altough I had selected a room in the "cheaper" categories - it was great.
The front desk staff was fast and polite.
The room itself was huge - much better than expected.
The washroom was also huge, with a shower, bathtub, large sink, etc.
I was amazed by the comfort and value for money.
The ambiance of the hotel is also great with the hotel set in a beautiful quite garden - away from the hectic, hussling street and traffic.
I will defintely staff here again for future trips to Surabaya.
Restaurant Tip:
I was one of the few guests having dinner at the hotel - not sure if it was because it was empty - but the service presented was fantastic.
The staff was very attentive and the food delivered in a timely manner.

the hotel majapahit is a must-stay for anyone travelling to surabaya. the staff offered really superb service and were very attentive. the rooms are extremely spacious. breakfast was good, and the hotel's sarkies restaurant isn't bad either.

I arrived at the Hotel Majapahit after three weeks traveling through Flores and was in need of some comforts. The Majapahit delivered in spades.
The Garden Room was off a colonnaded cloister and had a cute alcove for sitting and enjoying the garden. On entering the room I was greeted with a lounge area, the sleeping area with a goodly sized king bed (extra comfortable) followed by a large bathroom with deep bath as well as separate shower.
The Majapahit is celebrating it's 100th anniversary and this shows in both the architecture and quality period fittings throughout the room. The in room entertainment facilities were adequate, but the wifi reception was good.
In summary, I've stayed in more expensive hotels but few, if any, with such character.
