just want to say that this is my fourth stay at the old "majapahit".if you enjoy a hotel that "oozes" history and old world charm...this is the place to be in surabaya.the staff ,the rooms, the restaurants and the magnificent breakfasts each morning, all blend in to make it one of my favourite hotels in asia, (without the excessive costs).it's a "must try".....you will certainly not be disappointed.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Visit the House of Sampoena, where there is a museum and you can see the cloves cigarettes Kratingdaeng being hand made.It is truly amazing.

This is my fourth time staying in this hotel and will coming back for more as I often travel to Surabaya. I wouldn't stay in different hotel except Majapahit. Every time I walked passed the staff, gardener or a cleaner they all greed me with a smile and remember my name. All the staff are very friendly. Live this hotel with an error of Dutch colony. All the furniture are antique which I love. The room is huge and lot of space. Word can not describe this hotel.

i remember,when i was young live in surabaya,that mojopahit hotel used to be the oranye hotel....after the renovation,i can't believe it...so amazing hotel,i love the features of the room's interior with semi antique furniture and very elegant gardens setting...the services are very welldone and friendly!!! my two australian friends and i were enjoyed stay in this hotel, so many kinds of delicious food to choose for breakfast!!!
please, i highly recommend to visitors if you visit surabaya...you will enjoy stay in mojopahit hotel!!!!

Great hotel with great history

The room was nice; it had good view. Everything seemed perfect. The only issue we had was the Jacuzzi. There was no attendant, and the water temperature was high (it was so hot that we could not dip for more than seconds). We had to ask them to turn off the system.

we were here for 1 night only, but an eventual second visit here is not out of the question. the hotel is done in old fashioned dutch style, still in good condition and properly maintained. the employees are very friendly and helpful.
the price we had with agoda was a very good one, especially considering the good location. 3 min. walk away from the well known tunjungan plaza.
Shopping Tip:
Tunjungan Plaza almost next to it. Food court @ the top level and LOTSA shops :p

lovely ambience, helpful staff who gave decent advice on eating outlets. lousy food in hotel, chefs should be thrown out- buffet breakfast was worst I've had in a hotel , food just didnt taste right, no effort put into cooking or presenting the meal, little variety ( couldnt even order a la carte), tea tasted terrible - was it the quality of water? Dinner at buka pausa was a complete waste of time were it now for taking pictures of the well-decorated grounds. Mosquitoes aplenty so shut your room doors as quickly as you can.
Restaurant Tip:
Go to Desa Darpur for local food, within walking distance from the hotel .

I stayed here with my mother who is in her 70s and we both loved it, so it caters for both generations. The room was spacious, comfortable and full of character. The gardens are tranquil and the setting beautiful. The Majapahit is much like Raffles in Singapore. There is a good fitness centre & pool and the restaurant staff in particular were pleasant and helpful. It's worth opting to have breakfast in the hotel - you can certainly get your money's worth!
Do put mosquito spray on in the evening, though!

The hotel has great food and great service. Very good location which is just opposite one of the biggest shopping malls in Surabaya. We love the spa there and the facility is great. Massage is one of the best. Our room is clean. The pillows were a bit flat though which gave me neck aches but overall it is still a very good stay.
Hotel Feature Tip:
It is a must to check out the spa in this hotel. It's very good and value for money. One of the best that I have been so far. The hotel can arrange for day trip to visit the Mount Bromo as well if you have a day to spare.
