Nice stay with good ambience and friendly staff. There are still some renovations done in various floors. Only thing I feel lacking is that there are not enough signs telling you where are the facilities located in the hotel, as well as there are no hotel directory in the room.

great hotel, close to shopping center and restaurant (walking distance). the room is very large, nice, and clean. things that i need is available in the room, including free mini bar (though limited to drinks) and wifi. restaurant and bars are great. the only issue i have is the shower--the water is not warm enough.

I stayed for a night, fast check in (didn't even have to show e-mail confirmation from Agoda, only mentioned full names and booked from Agoda). The room is quite big with nice decor and complete amenities (hairdryer, tea/coffee making, etc)including free minibar (only cans of softdrinks and beer..I was hoping for at least chocolate bars or some snacks..)
Breakfast has a variety of food. I didn't like the rice/noodle parts but really enjoyed the yoghurt and muesli.
No wifi in the room which is one of the downside alongwith a rather costly room rate (night for a deluxe room)

actually I book the deluxe room, but because some of reason..
they change our room to premier suite.. so off course im so delightfull. The room was so big, bathroom so nice.
And the most important also, the breakfast beyond our expectation. The greatest breakfast that I've ever get so far.

my husband and i had a great time in this hotel. we check in on 29th april which is my birthday. asked the reception if i am entitled for an upgrade but she says no as i booked from agoda. that evening i had a big suprise from the staff. a group of 8 staffs came to my room with a birthday cake and sang me birthday song. next morning we met the gm at the lobby, presented me with a gift to my surprise again. upgraded my room to their biggest room in the hotel. a big thank you to the management and staff of meritus surabaya. will definately stay in this hotel again when i visit surabaya.
Restaurant Tip:
The restaurant opposite the hotel "Dapur Desa" a must try. The ice cincau is good.

located in the center of surabaya

a nice new 5 star hotel with a great location and good value for money, near tp for shopper. not as expensive as the other 5 star hotel near tp but the hotel room is almost as big as the others and free mini bar as part of hotel promotion
