old n a hotel not for business traveller

hotel fixtures are old and dated. Just look at the keycard for the room door, you should know how dated the hotel is.
Internet is not free (unless u use the 2 public computers provided at the lobby). No Lan connection in room only wifi available and signal is very weak and sometimes no signal in room...have to pay S$18 per 24 hours usage (for S$18 you can subscribe for 1 month unlimited service with an Indonesia telco).
Swimming pool looks dirty and water not clean.
All who is thinking about booking this hotel, pls ask if there is a wedding party during your stay. Anyone who wants to pick you up by car in the evening may have have problem picking you up at the lobby. My friends (who picked me up) have to que in line for 30 mins to reach the lobby. They were only 20meters from the lobby. I could not go to their car coz it was rainning very heavy then. The bellhop was no where around the lobby coz they were busy directing cars at the car park.
Conclusion: not business people friendly. For family holidays its ok.
Travel tip:
if you think of staying in Novotel as a business guest...be prepared to pay for everything

My girlfriend and i enjoyed our stay at this hotel room was very nice, comfy bed and view of garden and pool,the air con was a bit tempramental,sometimes not cold enough and other times to cold ,another down fall of the room i stayed in was it had a bit of a water leak in the bath room when we had bath or shower, there would be large puddle on tiles when we finished! other than these two things the room was very good.The pool was nice and clean and staff at the gym and reception were friendly and helpful,always organising taxi service when needed.
Nightlife Tip:
great night clubs in surabaya and good places for kareoke!oh yeah and the malls shopping heaven

Pool and the buffet dinner

Ask for a free upgrade, i got a much better room and they were happy to do it. Pool is great and the buffet dinner was very good. Staff was nice and pleasant. Room was great. Carrefour is only 3 blocks away. Overall nice pleasant hotel with a great pool

location and staff's attitudes were great.
great food and restaurant.
unfortunately the rooms we stayed were quite old...
the bathroom need to be refurbished.
overall, we had positive experience staying in this hotel.

Novotel is a good hotel for travelling with young children but not suitable for travelling with eldery as there is no elevator.
Room was great and clean but the design is a bit futuristic which not to user friendly for our family.
Overall, we are very satisfied staying at Novotel.

I was there for 1 nite transit. The location is good, because in the centre of the city, near to everything. Hotel design is nice and spacious. The room was good, clean. But the TV need to be replaced with the new model. Room rate is so valuable with the comfort and service I got.
Restaurant Tip:
The hotel is in the middle of the city. But to go everywhere, though you still need taxy. The taxy is available in the hotel. You can go behind the hotel area to find food area with lots of food type. For far, you can get almost anything.

Lovely service but minimum facility room

We were stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment, no complaint regarding the room, but minimum in-room facility was quite disappointing. No in-room refrigerator was the most disappointing issue.
However, the staffs were very nice, the food were also quite nice.
