Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Rustic ambience but inadequate infrastructure
1. Village-house-like ambience 2. Staff 3. Collection of books
5.7
Truly rustic and rural-home-like. However, it falls short of necessary infrastructure. Like Air conditioning -- because the rooms are really large, the small a/cs are grossly insufficient to handle the room size. Hence you have small patch of tolerable cooling and a very large room that's steamy hot. In addition, there are glass ceiling to let in natural light. But there are no windows. This creates the classical green-house effect that makes being outside the room much cooler than in inside, especially during the afternoons. It would be advisable for the hotel to consider Anti UV film on the glass roof to reduce the greenhouse effect. Also they could consider kettle and coffee sachets, since most tourists prefer the early morning visits and the coffee service starts much later

Nice architecture but too noisy
Design, architecture, garden.
4.3
We booked for 2 nights and left after the first night because of the noise .............the hotel is located in a village and at 3 am you start to hear the cockerels then the mosques and the people. The hotel architecture and interior design are very nice. It would have been a good place to stay except for the noise .Pity.....

Javanese Hotel
The rooms were lovely - old style design, extremely comfortable with small pools and seating areas freely available outside. Relaxed atmosphere and pleasant staff.
6.7
My stay was lovely. I loved the buildings with the sheltered outside pools and seating areas. There were hidden pathways through the gardens and plenty of vegetation. The surroundings were fantastic - one side paddy fields and the other a local village. There were quiet walks available or a horse and cart if you preferred. The hotel offered an airport pick up/drop off service. Access to the town needed a taxi or car and driver. Staff were happy to discuss the local attractions. Coming from Jakarta it was a breath of fresh air, surrounded by pleasant greenery. The only downside was the loud call to prayer in the early mornings but the hotel does provide earplugs.

Wonderfully Indonesian
The beautiful gardens, the village location and the quiet yet attentive service

Set amongst rice paddies in a small village on the edge of Indonesian's spiritual heartland, the hotel complex was a series of authentic Indonesian houses. I had a small private villa set in gorgeous gardens with it's own small private pool. You really get a feel for the tranquility of living in the real rural Indonesia.

A great weekend away from bustling Jakarta life. Owned by Warwick Purser, the traditional Javanese hotel is made up of old Joglo buildings and has a chic ambience.
The staff were very attentive when prompted and one fellow in particular, Galuh was very helpful recommending some restaurants, neither of which were open on the day we were looking for dining options (Monday) so it was a bit of a non-event. But he did provide what looked like good dining establishments.
They provide ear plugs which some people would find, come in handy because of the numerous mosques in vicinity. For me it adds to the charm of being in Java, so this was no problem but some people may find the call to prayer disturbing.
Overall it was a very pleasant stay.
