Nice hotel but service not good at all ( bad )

Hotel is good, clean, room space for deluxe room is standart, location ok but the staff is too bad. That's 5 star hotel, but staff like doesn't ready for that kind of hotel. Reception only 1 or 2 staff,took a long time to check in. I booked for 3 rooms,check in time 2pm, I came at 3.30pm and only 1 room ready, for the other 2, I have to wait until 6pm.I paid the day before and room still not ready. They said some people extend their stay and they paid extra, its like they sell the room for another few hours which is that's actually my rooms. The day that I mad a payment, I called the hotel and ask for extra bed. They give me Rp110.000,00 each so I booked 3 extra bad for 3 rooms so when I check in I ask for extra bed and the didn't mention the price which is I already know from the phone. When I check out, they give me bill for 3 extra bed @300 something rupiah and the total is more than 1 million rupiah( its about 700 rupiah different ) and when I complaint, they said never said about the extra bad price. I show the phone no that I called before that I ask for extra bed, the MANAGER said that's not the hotel number. Then I try to called that number again and that's right, that's the ASTON hotel and I told the manager, this the aston hotel number and fianlly he said yes. The manager name is IWAN, he is the most stupid hotel manager I've ever see.He try to lie to me. But it doesn't work with me. Too bad. Manager n staff sucks. They do don't have enaugh knowledge to become 5 star hotel staff and manager.

Travel tip:
We stayed 2 nights at Grand Aston, Jogja. It was great. The room was big enough, clean and new. If you want to go around jogja city, I'll recommend you go by becak (traditional vehichel of java, Indonesia). We only need to pay about 50.000 rupiah and you can enjoy jogja with all the shopping stuff. The becak will show you where to go

Nice Hotel and Great Location

We enjoyed our stay in Grand Aston because the location was very near all the tourist sites such as the Keraton and Malioboro and Prambanan. We did have to travel a little further to see Borobudur (abt an hour away) but that is to be expected since it is located a little outside of Jogja. The hotel is nice and clean and they are helpful with our needs.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Rent a car for a whole day sightseeing but just take a cab for close distances because cab fares are quite cheap.

We made a hotel booking through Agoda and finally chose this hotel. Hotel is located at South Jakarta and Kota Kasablanca shopping mall is just 5 mins walk from the hotel and also you can find other shopping mall around 10-15 mins drive.
We got a highest floor which is 17th floor with deluxe double room and requested to see nice city view at my room. When I checked in evening time then ready to count down for the New Year and can see lovely fireworks from my room.
We woke up in the morning which is New Year day and saw graveyard in front of the hotel (further distance) and I felt a bit unpleasant on my New Year day. But, if you can neglect it that is fine.

Efficient and Comfortable!

extended my stay after a business trip to stay with my family.
I opted to move from twin bed to queen bed room and the hotel staff was very helpful and efficient in transfering my luggage.
my niece loved to sit in the alfresco area for breakfast, too bad it is actually a smoking section.
I was informed at check in that the hotel is a non-smoking hotel, unfortunately that only means the rooms are non-smoking, they still allow people to smoke in the alfresco dining area.
rooms are clean and comfy as the hotel is still relatively new, hope they will keep up the standard.

The place is very strategic. Very close to Malioboro and Adisucipto Airport. We stayed with one child aged 8 years. The hotel environment is very suitable for families and children. No adult entertainment places around the hotel. Very close to shopping mall which provides delicious traditional foods of Yogyakarta. We'll be back here!
Shopping Tip:
You can find various typical souvenirs of Yogyakarta in Malioboro. It takes just 10 minutes away from the hotel!

request for high floor, non smoking room was easily accomodated although the hotel is on high occupation.
check in was quick and painless as usual.
room stayed clean and comfortable.
breakfast was the usual affair with wide range of western and indonesian breakfast.
the jamu lady was a nice touch as I really enjoyed the traditional beras kencur beverage.
