great for the price and location

For the price, i think it's a great choice if you want to be in the city. You might want to confirm what view you would get because I got the window overlooking a pretty ugly city side. I didn't fuss over it but it would be nice to get a better view. Right next door was a great store for baby needs and toys. It's very handy for families traveling with children. Across the street is Superindo supermarket. Breakfast was just okay. Staff is nice. Pool is rather small, but then it's no resort. I like its cleanand modern design. It's a pity i didn't get to try the sky lounge because my son got sick.

no smoking room and the internet is quiet slow. But the breakfast is quiet good and the garden is so nice . and near to the center of the city. so it is near to the gardenia hotel or to the food market. but one way street is very disturbing

nothing special all is standard. i just very satisfy with the bed and pillow, super comfortable.
if you never come yogyakarta before, u will quite hard to reach hotel by car. i advice u take taxi if u come by plane. cause the route is one way.
and the hotel entrance not so really appear from the crowded road.

2nd visit & it's simply great!

it's our second visit in to yogyakarta in less than 2 months and we just have to visit grand aston again due to the lovely experience we had just less than 2 months ago. this time we had our folks around and they too enjoyed the hospitality staying at grand aston. thanks so much to all the staff at grand aston yogyakarta!

High effort on service

We would probably have preferred to be down near Jalan Marlioboro but this was a nice new hotel and the room was very comfortable. Our room had a view of Mt Merapi and an interesting view of some of the city. Staff tried very hard and were very helpful. The check in and out was very efficient and the all day dining was good. You can get the conference groups in but staff are quick to warn if the restaurant is going to become crowded. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
See Prambanan and Borobodur temples. Take a long stroll down Jalan Marlioboro - plenty of stores, dining and street music.

Nice hotel but service not good at all ( bad )

Hotel is good, clean, room space for deluxe room is standart, location ok but the staff is too bad. That's 5 star hotel, but staff like doesn't ready for that kind of hotel. Reception only 1 or 2 staff,took a long time to check in. I booked for 3 rooms,check in time 2pm, I came at 3.30pm and only 1 room ready, for the other 2, I have to wait until 6pm.I paid the day before and room still not ready. They said some people extend their stay and they paid extra, its like they sell the room for another few hours which is that's actually my rooms. The day that I mad a payment, I called the hotel and ask for extra bed. They give me Rp110.000,00 each so I booked 3 extra bad for 3 rooms so when I check in I ask for extra bed and the didn't mention the price which is I already know from the phone. When I check out, they give me bill for 3 extra bed @300 something rupiah and the total is more than 1 million rupiah( its about 700 rupiah different ) and when I complaint, they said never said about the extra bad price. I show the phone no that I called before that I ask for extra bed, the MANAGER said that's not the hotel number. Then I try to called that number again and that's right, that's the ASTON hotel and I told the manager, this the aston hotel number and fianlly he said yes. The manager name is IWAN, he is the most stupid hotel manager I've ever see.He try to lie to me. But it doesn't work with me. Too bad. Manager n staff sucks. They do don't have enaugh knowledge to become 5 star hotel staff and manager.

Very clean, very nice arrangement of space, the food is delicious!

The place is very strategic. Very close to Malioboro and Adisucipto Airport. We stayed with one child aged 8 years. The hotel environment is very suitable for families and children. No adult entertainment places around the hotel. Very close to shopping mall which provides delicious traditional foods of Yogyakarta. We'll be back here!
Shopping Tip:
You can find various typical souvenirs of Yogyakarta in Malioboro. It takes just 10 minutes away from the hotel!
