Nice hotel in the middle Malioboro

It was such a good option to stay in hotel Mutiara if you want to shopping around Malioboro. it is easy to find a street food, bakpia, and Batik of course.

It was ok, let down in general. Much better value options. Hotel is old, some small mosquitos and ants in the room, old stained carpets, dingy towels, a few spots on the sheets... Not a nightmare, but wouldnt stay there again. The location is great if you like buying touristy expensive crap... but not worth it for the other sacrifices you make.

Very old but still Beautiful Hotel

A recommeded hotel for those willing to do business, shopping and sight-seeing in the old city of Yogyakarta.
It was located perfectly in the hottest spot of the city, Malioboro street.
The rooms looked classique with some antique souvenirs inside.

A cozy place in the busy street

it was a brief stay for 2 days and 1 night at this hotel. the best thing about this hotel is it is located on malioboro street which is the hub of activities in the town! the streets are filled with street vendors, musicians, eat outs and what not!
the hotel by itself was pretty good, except for the old creepy elevators - one under maintenance and the other which would not stop at your floor when you have to go down to the lobby.
the ambiance is good. good choices for breakfast and courteous staff.
also there is live music in the evening! a piano is played!

You should be good at bargaining

We arrived at 02.00 AM, but the staff was still "on duty" to serve us. My family were really enjoy to stay in this hotel.
One feature to be improved is parking area due to we traveled by our own car, but the space is not enough.

care to call directly to hotel before booking (or even better, before). this hotel has been very popular for group stay and stuff, so it tends to fill out at weekends and ultimately at holiday season. we tried to make 3 days booking by agoda, but luckily we confirm the hotel first so we know that actually their room is only available for 2 days. tricky..
