good location and friendly staff
from our 2nd floor room window, overlooking a bridge with garbage dump view
strategically located near shopping areas as well as to and from tourist destinations, have easy access to transport of any choice. the staff are friendly, good place for families to enjoy the pool. the hotel was undergoing renovations (especially the lobby area) during our stay but other facilities are okay. Clean rooms and safe place to stay. we enjoyed our stay there.
Shopping Tip : the hotel is very near the shopping street of Mailoboro which has a vast array of Javanese crafts and their batik specialties...reasonably priced if one knows how to haggle

Upkeep of room. Ventilation of the rooms needs to be improved.
The location of the hotel was ideal. It's on the main road so there is no need to worry about walking along deserted streets. There are 24-hour KFC & McDonald outlets and a convenience stall just a stone's throw away. The hotel reception was lavish based on local standards. Staff was friendly and ever willing to lend a helping hand. Breakfast spread was acceptable, you don't have to worry having nothing to eat. Hotel room was old - just a look at the bathroom, wardrobe & fridge says it all. Ventilation in the room was not ideal! We asked for a non-smoking room but the room had a cigarette smoke smell lingering in the air the moment we stepped in. And in the middle of the night, the room suddenly reeked of cigarette smoke smell, probably from a neighbouring room.

The Santika is well located near the top of Jogya's Maliaboro hub. Its airy open feel is welcoming and its food and beverage staff and product are impressive.
Many of the staff were inattentive to the point of indifferent, and I was sent on wild goose chases around the hotel for services which did not exist.
The Hotel Santika Premiere Jogja is a fairly modern 4 star hotel designed with strong influence from traditional Indonesian aesthetics. The room was clean and adequately appointed, and the food was impressive, particularly for the pricing. The food and beverage staff were excellent representatives of the hotel, some others less so.
Restaurant Tip : The poolside barbecue was a highlight. Great food and doting staff.
