Warm welcome and feel as if as at home
Location is perfectly fine and feel welcome from all staff
I was booked for 6 nights before finally decided to extend another one night extension. Staff was really helpfull and they did more than what I expected with all my enquiries. Definitely always come back

Melia gave me the dirty room n full of smoke.
food n location
Cek in at 4.30 PM...process more than 30 minutes. Melia offer the dirty room n full smoke. There was not another choice of room even the hotel was not fullybooked (low season). Then should up grade room n additional charge IDR 400.000 per night. It was terrible exoerience.

Bathing Facility need to be improved
Con. The shower device is under-powered. It cannot spray water beyond 0.5m meaning bathing time tend to be longer and uncomfortable. Further, the shower device cannot heat up cold water (even at the highest warm level during the evenings). The hotel should conduct regular checks of its bathing facility regularly. Neutral. Need to take a rickshaw to/fro the main shopping street - Jalan Malioboro. Riding time is 10 min, depending on the road traffic. It's not a big issue although it's something to factor into the budget (about 50K rupiah per round-trip) if one goes there for lunch/dinner regularly. Pro. The staff is warm and friendly. You can feel it when you step into the hotel. Also, the beds are clean and solid. The lounge is large and have a very high ceiling facing the garden. This is a nice place to relax at the end of the day. If not for this "friendly staff" factor, the hotel would have deserve only a 3 star.

Great hotel shame about the internet
This is one of the most charming hotels in Yogyakarta despite many new n very modern ones built recently. It's a block for the busy-ness of mao9in street Jln Malioboro, very quite in itself but the busy tourist street is a few steps away. God restaurants near. Very stylish design, lovely lobby and rooms pretty good in a fairly standard way. Staff very attentive, perhaps too much so check-in on floor 6 was made too complex by many staff fluttering around trying to divide up a simple job that should have been done swiftly and efficiently by a a single staffer. This is NOT the way to use staff. The single biggest failure of this hotel is that its internet is not very good, at least in my room on level 6. This is a major failing for a hotel of this standard and price and it should be fixed. The motorbike park is a long way from the entrance; I guess they think guests all come with a car and driver. This is a lovely hotel with many facilities and I'd think of staying here again on Agoda/promo rates but i wish they'd fix the net.
