Good located close to Malioboro Street and Keraton.
Complete facilities and friendly staff Smoking is allowed in the lobby lounge We stayed three days in Melia Purosani and over all our family enjoyed our stay as the hotel is located close to Malioboro street and especially the Bringhardjo market. My wife likes it very much as she can just walk to the market to hunt for batik or walk along Malioboro street looking for gift / handy craft or visiting interesting stores along the street such as Mirota store. For the children they quite enjoyed the hotel's swimming pool and kid area. The lobby lounge is quite cozy but a couple of time we all sitting down in the lounge there always some other guests smoking in the lounge which we think should not be allowed for the enclosed and air conditioned lounge as this is not good for the non smoker guests and especially the children. Overall the hotel is comfortable and friendly to stay with although the hotel is already quite old.
Shopping Tip : visit Mirota shop at malioboro street for gift items.

Very close to Beringharjo Traditional market The towel does not smell very good (not used for sometime ?) Large Bedroom & Bathroom, with additional sofa in the room.
Nice swimming pool specially for kids, they also have kids centre.
For non-mosleem, you can asked for room that not face the mosque so you wont be disturbed when sleeping.
Quite close to Malioboro Street which is one of the MAIN ATTRACTION in Yogyakarta. (+/- 200m)
You can use the traditional transport (becak)if its rain or a bit lazy to walk :)
The driver will quite happy with 10K IDR for one way, usually they offer a trip to ethnic shop around the city tho..
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : One of the MUST visit: MALIOBORO STREET.
There is a Satay restaurant near the hotel, you can ask the security, the restaurant name is Satay Podomoro (+/- 100m)

Taxi,trishaw and lots of information available from the hotel.Great location,near main shopping area but off the busy roads. The internet access rates for the rooms are ridiculous...it should be free wireless in all the rooms. Was there with my mom.She had a great time and kept on praising the condition of the hotel.Buffet breakfast was great with different food for the 3 days that we were there.Kudos to the FnB department.
Shopping Tip : anywhere that you shop it helps if you have a basic command of Bahasa Indonesia.Bargaining should be a breeze.
