what a great decision to book the phoenix. wonderful graceful place that encapsulated the charm of yogja! close to the airport, and walking distance to maloboro rd, and the city centre. i was there in peak holliday time, so the pool was full of boisterous kids, so i was probably lucky not to have a room over the pool, but it was nice enough anyhow.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Across the road, on the corner as y walk towards malodor rd, there is q travel agent who will give you a good deal on a car and driver for the day to tour borobodur and merapi sights. Half the price the hotel charges, or airport shanks were asking.

Will definitely come back. It has a great location, within walking distance to Malioboro. Nice hotel with unique decorations. Very nice rooms although we got a poor view since it was facing the gas station next to the hotel.

Beautiful heritage hotel
the building is combines the elegance of an old colonial building with every modern facilities.

Beautiful heritage hotel with history starting right from the doorstep! We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Room was very clean, staff were warm, friendly and helpful while the daily breakfast buffet was simply amazing. Highly recommended! We'll definitely stay here again.
Restaurant Tip:
the breakfast buffet spread was marvellous.

The decor was beautiful but slightly worn, and the hotel, including the rooms tended to get too warm in the afternoons.

nice hotel, good service, value of price, great location. the staff was quick respond but no breakfast allowed. i'll be stay longer on my next trip to yogyakarta
Shopping Tip:
the location of the hotel is in the heart of city so better you go around by becak than car. its cheap and we can take more time to have sightseeing and enjoy the trip

Beautiful Classic Hotel with touch of history

If you like classic architectural building, this hotel suits you best. Although its classic but it's well kept and clean. Service staffs are ever friendly and always there to assist. Hotel location is quite centralised since it's quite near to the central landmark (tugu).
The only downside is the size of the room as i was expecting it to be slightly bigger and the corridor could be a little noisy if there are family kids as they voices could easily be heard during plays.
Best option is to take room facing the pool or the fountain since the structure of the buildings in Jogja are pretty closely to each other and you may get a window/balcony facing other building or slumps.

Unique hotel in a strategic location

The staff are very nice and helpful.. They are really pay attention on our needs and take a quick action on our complaint on the ac. The room is also very clean even the size of the roomit is rather small. Anyway, we were satisfied during our stay in this hotel.

Everything is good except the mattress is too soft.
Hotel Feature Tip:
There are nothing much to see around the hotel. There is a very nice award winning Peranakan hotel opposite the hotel. Just that need to be very careful when crossing the street, go to the traffic light when crossing.
