Families with older children Australia, April 03, 2013	peaceful, quite and relaxing large onsen, large room, large windows, separate toilet and bathroom 7 it was definitely value for money, because it is located in kawaguchiko and we had a bedroom with 2 large windows overlooking the lake. they come and tidy up the mattress (jap style) in the morning and come make it up for us again at 6.30pm. there's a free shuttle to/from kawaguchiko station. they have 3 large onsen and the outdoor one was fabulous. it was foggy and rained when we went so we stayed in the room most of the time and ended up walking up 15-20 min to find nearby restaurants/stores which did not trade within their own trading hours (they were shut!). the staff didnt speak much english but they were friendly and overall it was quite pleasant. by the way the hotel name is "Royal Hotel" without "Fuji" - our taxi driver got so lost driving us from kawaguchiko station and he ended up ringing the hotel

Couples United States of America, October 11, 2011	Older hotel with great baths large rooms 7 this hotel is not within walking distance of the train station. however, at the station there is a tourist information center and if you call the hotel from there, they will send a car to pick you up. the hotel is across a small road from the lake, but because of the way it is situated none of the rooms seem to have a lake view. also, you cannot see mt. fuji from the hotel, there are too many tall buildings in the way. other hotels have better views but will probably cost quite a bit more. our one complaint about the hotel was hidden costs. at check out time we ended up paying 5,000 yen extra for incidentals which we thought were included or free. make sure you ask if you order anything extra.
