Visited by royalty, this historic resort with beautiful classic architecture and magnificent mountain views, offers outstanding service to all its’ guests. Sensitively restored, the entire hotel is elegantly furnished and the rooms are spacious and sport high ceilings. Fujiya, the in-house French restaurant, is set in a 1930s hall adorned with intricate carvings and Japanese art. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool and a traditional hot spring Japanese bath. At night, the Japanese ponds in the hotel’s beautiful grounds are illuminated to enhance the view from the traditional teahouse. The Fujiya hotel in Kanagawa is only a 10 minute walk from the railway station where guests can explore the city using the Hakone cable cars. A Hotel with over 130 years of history, it is the most attractive thing of Fujiya Hotel, i thought.
It is a special hotel and worthwhile to have a stay. However, as many other guests said and commented, the hotel is "a faded glory", which I think it may not be competitive enough compared to other new hotels in the same areas. At least i will not consider to re-stay in this hotel.
The bed room is large enough, but it is a bit noisy in the morning. Noise-barrier of walls are just so poor. If you want a quiet stay, it may not be a good choice.
