A Hotel with over 130 years of history, it is the most attractive thing of Fujiya Hotel, i thought.
It is a special hotel and worthwhile to have a stay. However, as many other guests said and commented, the hotel is "a faded glory", which I think it may not be competitive enough compared to other new hotels in the same areas. At least i will not consider to re-stay in this hotel.
The bed room is large enough, but it is a bit noisy in the morning. Noise-barrier of walls are just so poor. If you want a quiet stay, it may not be a good choice.

The staff is helpful & friendly.
The bus stop is just in front of the hotel, easily to any attraction place by bus. The staff is very helpful and friendly & The room is large and clean. :)

Overall has a great experience in Fujiya Hotel. Will definitely come back again to stay. The surroundings of the hotel was beautiful and the hotel staff were very attentive and provided excellent service. They gave us complimentary biscuits when they mixed up our reservations. Very impressed by their service.

The location was great for visiting the snow festival. Super convenient to the train station. It is one of the few traveller hotels in Japan I have been to that had functional wifi. Was really good

Be certain to ask for a room thats nonsmoking. When the doors are open for the rooms to be cleaned, you can smell the smoke in the halls

We were lucky that we could get this hotel with a discount. This hotel is a historic hotel used to serve the famous guests from all around the world, from president to John Lennon. The hotel itself is a museum and actually, it is kind a tourist attraction as well. Unlike some typical japanese hotspring hotel, here we can get onsen water in your private bathtub. One negative thing about this hotel, the cafe and the restaurants are quite expensive and the foods are not comparable with their prices.

Because of long years of establishment, facilities, services, guides and maps are ready in English. Many locals use the hotel for various social functions, so public areas may be busy. Public onsen is small, but functional. Other reviews are useful for trip plan.

Excellent service. So many efficient staffs were there. No necessary to hesitate to ask any to them and we had not been kept wait for any.
As we liked to ask, some bodies were there. Also their responses made the things clear all the time. We had no stress at all there.

It has a good restaurant with classic Japanese-European display.
