I stayed in a couple of Deluxe Double Non-Smoking Rooms with WIFI for a total of 6 days. Rooms are small. WIFI signal is relatively weak. Wired internet connection is also available but the room does not have a desk. So I would not recommend this for business travelers.
The hotel is in a decent location within 3 minutes of walking distance from Yotsuya-sanchōme Subway Station (四谷三丁目駅). By taxi, it is about 3 minutes from the Shinjuku station, granting you access to other mass transit options.
There are a a few restaurants within walking distance, including selections such as ramen, Burger King Chinese, Korean, and Indian. There are also multiple convenient stores close by including Family Mart, 7-Eleven, and Lawsons.

Bad service, would not go again. Traditional Japaneese breakfast is served. If you do not like it there are several cafes nearby. 30 min by bus from the ropeway, nothing to do in town. Shops close early. Restaurants and cafeas close for siesta.

We enjoyed our stay at this Ryokan. Location was a bit out of the way - it was a bit of a walk after getting off the bus. The Ryokan was a bit difficult to find as there was no English signboard outside to indicate its name. We had to show strangers walking nearby a copy of the name written in Japanese.
There was more than sufficient green tea bags in a jar which were left on the coffee table together with a teapot and some jelly like sweets which was a nice gesture. A teapot for boiling water was nearby.
All in all the Ryokan was a pleasant place to stay.

Old scool japanese style...
A real "ryokan" hotel with hot spring, typical japanese food and rooms

Nice accomodation if you like a typical japanese style. The place is a bit old, but really has a nice atmosphere. Rooms are equipped with modern TV, but restrooms are a bit 80ties. Prices are high, but acceptable for a tourism spot in Japan.
Food was good and booking dinner is recommended. There are only a few places to have dinner outside the hotel, most of them close after 8pm.
Connections to transportation is acceptable, Tonzen-Bus stop is about 5 mins walk from hotel, bus takes 20 mins to Hakone Railway station.

reasonable price with big japanese style room

the hotel is pretty far from the main transport center and it is a bit difficult to find. not much restaurant nearby and many of them close very early. but the hotel is very nice. It is like traditional Japanese building, and room are big and clean. It is very enjoyable to sit inside the room and watch the TV programme even we don't understand the content of the programme.
Guests can use the hot spring privately for 30 mins after 11pm which is very good if you haven't get used to bath with the others.
Restaurant Tip:
Better have meal near the major transport area then come back to hotel if you don't eat in the hotel as there is not much restaurants nearby.

Brilliant Japanese experience
Beautiful Japanese room with table set into the floor and fantastic breakfast.

The guesthouse was just perfect after a day wondering around Hakone. For first timers using the bathhouse, you can try their bath privately after 11pm.
The only downside was finding the guesthouse which was our fault. Perhaps you are smarter than us and will get a map before get to Hakone. Otherwise enjoy trying out your Japanese on the locals to find it
Restaurant Tip:
Try the restaurant just 50 metres or so from guesthouse. Ask for KANI KAMAMESHI. Crab rice hotpot. Its cooked on the table for you. Takes 40 minutes to cook so I recommend ordering a beer and enjoying the Japanese pickles while you wait.
