Close proximity to train station
Great public bath
The picture of the Ark hotel on the internet didn't do it justice. We didn't have far to travel from the Railroad station to the Ark. Taxi to the Ark was 590 Yen. Walking into the Ark lobby provided a much more majestic view than I expected. The room was tight for three people. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very helpful regarding our travel questions. The public bath on the 11th was splendid.
Hotel Feature Tip : I'd been to several public baths on our visit to Japan and this was by far the "coolest".

Baths at the top floor
Breakfast times
Small room (small by japanese standards)
Only window to open was above the table and got stuck on a chair, other two windows boarded over.
Location wise the hotel is fantastic, while it may not be central Hiroshima the trams make the town a breeze to travel around and the proximity of the hotel to the train station makes for a short walk rather then a struggle on public transport or an expensive taxi.
The room itself was rather small, two single beds and a couch with some blankets over it served as the third bed. With our bags (we only had backpacks each) there was very little free floor space.
Breakfast was simplistic yet had a large variety which was different everyday. Internet was rather flaky.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Don't bother with taxi's just use the city Trams. They run to most locations you require and are cheap as chips. While there definitly check out the Shukkei-en Park, its relatively unknown to most travellers and a little hide away from the bustle of the rest of the city. In itself though the park is incredible show casing a huge variety of different gardens and an impressive lake in the middle. Well worth the entry fee.

free hot spring, nice staffs, free internet services...
small room, time to check out too early
guests can enjoy the hot spring in the hotel, the hotel is at the walking distance from the central station and easy to take the tram. there are free internet services at the lobby, the room is not large but quite comfortable for tourists. there are 24 hours shop close to the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : close to tram station to get to dome or shopping streets

The hotel also has Onsen but check the timing since it's a shared bathroom. The schedule is specific for male and female. Dont miss it. There is also free internet down at the lobby.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : dont have to walk far to jump onto the city tram which will take you around the city sightseeing. Try to get a oneday pass(600-700 Yen or something like that... Can not remember for sure) since each trip(oneway) cost 150-200Yen(I guess?)

Good basic accommodations, hotel has everything you need. Hotel also has a heated pool and hot tub with a panoramic view (with specific times intervals for each gender), although we never had the time to check this out while we were there.
Breakfast was traditional Japanese buffet, and was good quality but I have had better elsewhere.
Restaurant Tip : Be sure to try the Okonomiyaki while in Hiroshima, it is different and in my opinion much better that the Okonomiyaki in Kobe/Osaka.
