Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Make Miyajima a Day trip
The breakfast was amazing. Beautifully prsented. Fish, miso soup, pickles, rice, fruit etc

Considering the Price of the hotels in Miyajima, and the fact that it's completely dead in the evening and that the hotel wont make you dinner if you havent booked in advance , I would recommend to stay in Hiroshima and make Miyajima in a Day. But Miyajima gets 5 stars.

Enjoyable Experience
Hot tub baths, Full board experience, Modern Japanese design
7.7
We took the full board Japanese style room option. The experience was excellent however you need to come with an relaxed attitude and open mind. The hotel is as solid 15-20 min walk from the Pier. This in itself is not a problem however the large volume of tourists on the island during the day make the walk a challenge if you have a suitcase. The hotel room and environment was an excellent modern Japanese design. The hotel The bath room was excellent. The wifi in the hotel is free for only 10 min per 3 hours and the speed is so slow I would consider this hotel to have no Internet access at all. The full board breakfast and dinner is extremely Japanese so you need to be open minded.

lovely Japanese ryokan experience
modern rooms, fantastic bath house, wonderful breakfast
7
The rooms are reasonably sized but don't bring too much luggage with you - it will take up too much space and you are a long way from the ferry pier. This ryokan is new, looks lovely, and is designed for comfort. The twin bathtubs and twin showers in the private bathhouse were relaxing and luxurious. The breakfast was amazing, and a highlight, which almost made up for the lack of dinner options the night before.
Restaurant Tip:
Miyajima is set up for the daily tourist trade, so it was a shock to find at 6pm that all the 100s of restaurants lining the streets were closed. Eat a grand lunch and collect a bento box for dinner to eat while watching the sun set over the bay.

Good place, great service, but expensive
Nice rooms, great service, very tasty Japanese-style breakfast
9.3
My decision to go on a trip was very sudden, so I didn't have much choice in booking a hotel two days before the stay. I chose a Japanese-style single room at Auberge Mizuhaso and was not disappointed in the least. The room looks traditional but with a modern feel, including a huge plazma TV (which I didn't get to watch). Air conditioning goes without saying. You get the futon laid out at the agreed time - mine was ready before I came back from sightseeing. Same goes with the traditional bath. The room itself has a lavatory, but bathrooms are separate, and the big tub will be filled with hot water when you want it to. The hotel provides yukatas for home wear.
Regarding breakfast, there is a choice between continental and Japanese style, and I went with the latter. The meal was huge, meaning about a dozen various okazu that I don't know the names for, miso soup, white rice, fish, and local-style bacon and eggs (served raw on a small heater). Add fruit for dessert. Delicious!
The hotel is located next to the Aquarium, on the opposite side of the Itsukushima Shrine than the ferry pier, about the same distance. Walking there is not a problem, even with luggage. The place is nice and quiet.
The sole issue I'd point out is Internet access. As a guest, you are supposed to receive a 2-hour access password by email, but if you are using web-based mail service, you are stuck. Of course, the staff do their best to help, but the system is not exactly convenient.

Very lovely hotel!
Very modern, new and clean hotel. Strongly recommended.
8.7
The hotel is almost 30min from the pier on foot, and it's a chore to walk that far in the hot summer, so it's best to get the hotel to arrange for transport. A warm and nice obasan sits at the small reception counter and staff are generally very polite at the hotel. Japanese-styled rooms are totally new with very modern facilities. We loved the two private baths which are available free. Food is fusion but we kind of preferred traditional Japanese cuisine. Overall a great hotel!

Friendly staff, awesoome bath tubs
nice location, comfortable rooms, great breakfast
10
hotel is conveniently located - just across from the aquarium in miyajima. i stayed in a japanese style room which was clean and very comfortable. the round metal tubs with wood covers in shared bathrooms were awesome - first time i have seen those despite having stayed in japanese style hotels before. room had smelled fresh and clean - am mentioning this as i have stayed in bigger japanese hotels where non-smoking room was musty or had a stale smell. breakfast was excellent - all items were delicious. the proprietor - mizuha-san - spoke good english and wss very helpful. i recommend this hotel - i'll stay here again on another trip to miyajima in future.
Restaurant Tip:
All restaurants in town close by 9 PM. So if you're staying at Miyajima plan on eating before that time.

Great Traditional Japanese features and culture
Best traditional Japanese culture tasted

The owners went out of their way to help us with transport to and from the ferry station. We arrived late (no taxi service after 19:00) They picked us up.
The day we left it was pouring with rain again they helped by transporting us to the terminal.
My hat off to the owners for extending themselves!

Very modern Hotel
looks new, very clean, have washlet, lcd tv is huge, breakfast qty is large, very comfy
8.7
surprised by the features of the hotel, it looks like a business hotel. most of the stuffs looks new. i got the western bed room and it was facing the back of the hotel, which means facing the slope of the hill, maybe if opt for the futon you might get the sea facing view.
Hotel Feature Tip:
All shops closed at 6pm, so go get your dinner at 5 (half of the island shops closed at 5+). This hotel serves dinner but only after 7. Very modern and spacious. The hotel counter is also the diner counter. Bike rental only at the pier. About 15 to 20 minutes walk from the pier but it's near 1 of the climbing route to the mountain. Run by a family that speaks little English.
