Right where it needs to be.
Walk to Peace Memorial, shopping street, streetcar stop to the train station

exellent location, pleasant and helpful staff. we walked easily to the peace memorial sites in a leisurely afternoon. just a few blocks south of the main shopping street, and only one block from a streetcar stop that'll take you anywhere. rooms are clean and relatively comfortable. you'll not find many western-style spring mattresses, and the pillows tend to be filled with buckwheat or some artificial variant, but you get used to it. fridge in the room is a welcome touch, especially in the summertime, when it is hot.
Restaurant Tip:
Walk to the main covered shopping street a few blocks north, go west (left) one block and on the corner is the best Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki restaurant in town. There might be a line. Wait.

Hiroshima Stay

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean. It is a great location and quite easy to find. Catch Street Car No. 1 and get off at Chuden Mae. Before you get to the stop look out for it on your right.

OK as a base
Near to the sights of Hiroshima

Hotel was very close to the museum and shopping area in Hiroshima. Didn't eat in the hotel so can't pass comment on facilities.
We did stay here one night and then stayed on Miyajima and then came back to the Sunroute for another night. The hotel were kind enough to hold our luggage overnight to save us taking it all and bringing it back again, so here they scored a big plus on customer service.
However, the rooms were quite dark and could do with brightening up a bit, but other than that, we got a good deal on the rooms and were satisfied overall, especially as the bed wasn't squished in a corner !!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If Hiroshima is on your list of must see's, make sure you spend at least one day at the museum and surrounding area's. There is so much to see there and to read it all takes some time, especially once the devastation and horror of what happened sinks in.

Great little spot in Hiroshima

This is a quaint hotel situated very close to Hiroshima Peace Park and Peace Museum, overlooking the river. If you are arriving at the JR station, a quick journey on the local trams will take you 15 minutes and drop you off approximately 300m from the hotel.
The rooms are on the small side, but if you don't plan on spending too much time there, the closeness to the surrounding attractions makes up for it!
Overall, a reasonable hotel in a great area close to restaurants, shops, transport and the Peace Park.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Situated across the road from Hiroshima Peace Park and the Peace museum. A short walk from the A-dome building and central shopping district.

Hiroshima Hotel Sunroute
A street car route straight from the Train Station and Sunroute Hotel one or so blocks away next to the river. Ideally positioned to the Peace Memorial/Park. Great location. Easy to bicycle from the hotel to see even more of the city and surrounding areas. Staff extremely professional and helpful. We were able to store our to bags as we had a "power touring" day trip to see as much as possible of Hiroshima before departing for our next location.

The Hotel Sunroute in Hiroshima is an ideal choice of hotel for visitors to the Peace Park, Hiroshima Memorial Museum and the A-Dome. It is also within walking distance to the landing berth for those wishing to visit Miyajima and its famed floating torii. The restaurant on the 27th floor served an unforgettable kiseki menu. Fortunately we were with friends who provided translations of the dishes to enhance our enjoyment of the meal. The restaurant also offered a panoramic view of the city by night.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Each region is well known for its food specialities. In this case it is their momiji-manju (baked sweet bean cakes in the shape of maple leaves).

The best thing about this hotel was its location! It is located across the street from the Peace Park. All of the major sites are within walking distance. In the lobby, you can rent a bicycle! We stayed in a non-smoking room, which was difficult for us to find in Japan. The room was very clean. Also, the hotel is within walking distance to the covered shopping area and several places to eat.
Restaurant Tip:
You have to try the famous "Japanese Pizza" at Nagata-Ya. This is located across the street from the Peace Park on the same street as the covered shopping mall. It is the first restaurant on the right side of the street. YUM!
