Great Base for Site Seeing
The rooms were small, but then aren't most Japanese hotels? They were clean and no-frills but did the trick for a place to crash at night. It's probably not the ideal place to hang out all day, but works fine as a base location to explore the city. You're right across the bridge from the Peace Memorial park, and right around the corner from a tram stop.

We enjoyed our stay here mostly due to the location. It's a typicaly business hotel without a lot of extras/frills and small rooms, but they are clean relatively comfortable. If you're used to American hotels, expect hard beds and pillows and tiny rooms compared to most US hotels. But as Japanese hotels go, this one is standard and just fine.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Very close to the Peace Memorial Park. It's right across the bridge and an easy walk to all the sites. It's a very short walk to the tram as well.

Fabulous stay at Sunroute Hiroshima

Our stay at Sunroute Hiroshima was enjoyable. The friendly staff,who all had great conversational english,were most helpful and able to suggest places to eat and the easy way to get to places.The size of the rooms was adequate and the rooms provided a pleasant decor.The proximity to the Peace Park and the river made it very easy to access the facilities of this area and a pleasant walk to the hotel.Also very close to streetcar station.

Do try okonomikae ( please excuse the spelling) while in Hiroshima

Really great location - 10 min walk from Peace Park and shopping centre.
Room big for Japan.
Quite an upmarket hotel used by coach parties and business people - we were backpacking and felt a bit bad when we arrived dripping wet from a rain shower with our backpacks etc, staff were not at all fazed and were really helpful with tours, maps, dry cleaning and the like.
We didn't use the hotel restaurants as we chose to eat out but they looked like a perfectly fine set of places to eat.
I'd strongly recommend staying in this place if visiting Hiroshima - 20 mins tram ride from train station and a really good central location for all things you might want to do.
Really nice base for a few days.

A good experience at the hotel Sunroute
The Hotel has an excellent location: it is at walking distance from the Peace Park and you can see the "atomic dome" from the hotel restaurant and from your room (reserve a room with a view on the park side).
The room was clean and very nice (book a twin for a bit more space), free tea was available.
It is 15 minutes, by taxi, from the train station (but you may choose to go by tramway: the tram stops only 5 minutes away from the hotel).
Restaurants and shopping area is at walking distance.
You may have a very nice breakfast for about 12 euro.

Average hotel in a great location.
This hotel is in the best location if you are going to peace memorial park. The park bridge is just outside hotel door. The hotel has 2 restaurants (table reservation needed). The room has own fridge and heating stove. The restaurant has a view to memorial park. The bed was very comfortable.

The bed was very comfortable, which is a big bonus. I also was happy that the room had a fridge and heating stove.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You can come quite near the hotel with the Tram no 1 from JR Hiroshima station (150 Yen). The hotel is just around the corner there.
In near vicinity of Tram stop there is an Italian Restaurant (in the park side of the street, downstairs) which had very good food.

Hiroshima Sunroute Hotel
Easily accessible location by streetcar.

The lobby of the hotel is bright and airy. The hotel staff are professional and helpful - providing us with umbrellas as it was raining during the time we were there. The hotel was easily accessible by streetcar and is walkable to the Peace Memorial Museum as well as the busy area of town. The bed in the room is very narrow by western standards. There are eateries close by.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Take the time to go over to Miyajima Island by ferry - it is beautiful and eerie at the same time. On Miyajima Island there are wild deer who try and headbutt you and eat your maps!

Excellent location and great value hotel
Great location overlooking the Peace Park. Very good value for money. English speaking staff. Clean and comfortable.

The hotel is in a fantastic location beside the river overlooking the Peace park. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful, and also speak good English.
Tram stop is just round the corner which will take you back to the main train station or Yokogawa station (for Miyajima Island) in about 20 minutes or so - depending on traffic.
Great value for money. The hotel bar and restaurant's were a bit expensive, but there are plenty of options near by and recommendations for restaurants are available in the hotel lobby.
Restaurant Tip:
J-cafe is a really nice little restaurant that's a 5min walk from the hotel. A map to the café is on the internet pc in the hotel lobby.
