Helpful, polite staff. Clean and well equipped room. Good location.
Very much a smokers hotel - the lobby had the smell of an ashtray. Our room was fine at first but we got a waft of cigarette smell every now and then, probably through the aircon. At least the bedding didnt smell.
We arrived the day before the Peace/Hiroshima ceremony which is the 6th August. The Hotel was very well positioned for walking there, checking the shops and restaurants etc. Apart from the smell of cigarettes it was ideal for our 2 night stay. Although it was next to a busy road we heard very little traffic.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the train/boat to see Miyajima too. Think twice about the street car to the ferry unless you like being shaken around for an hour.
The hike up the hill gets you away from the crowds and into the cooler tree canopy. If you stop for a drink or a bite on the way make sure the ants and midges dont get the same idea.

What was best about this (although it is hard to get there from JR station) is that it was the perfect distance to walk to the Peace Memorial Park, take a stroll around there early in the morning, then take the street-tram to Miyajima before the crowds got there (and see the sea-Torii prior to low tide, then spend the rest of the day on Miyajima seeing the Torii at low-tide (in mud but you can walk out to it), then get back to the Peace Park to see the museum before returning for dinner near the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : I don't like Hiroshima style okonomiyaki but they are famous and different. There are several little corner cafes/restaurants that make it in front of you.

Because of it's location, and the fact there is a disco, lobby and elevators are quite busy and noisy. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable, with no attractive views. We were not impressed with restaurant menus, and prefered eating outside the hotel. However, hotel's location makes it easy to walk to Hiroshima Memorial Park and Museum.
Restaurant Tip : Dine outside the hotel, except for breakfasts.
