This is not a hotel, but a stay. It would be great for a short-term stay. It is five minutes walk from the sub-station. The house is newly decorated, small but very nice. The bed is very comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay but the place was a bit difficult to find for the taxi driver. The staff was helpful but I think this stay would have been better for a local person who had a phone. The place does not have a phone and might have been easier for us to stay at a hotel where they could book things, make reservations for dinner and give use some advice. Kyoto was more difficult for a tourist than Tokyo (in finding restaurants, sites, etc.). It was a cute place but I would not recommend it for a stay longer than a couple nights as the stairs were very narrow and a bit cramped for the two of us and our 7 year old son. Having said that there was a little playground and awesome pizzeria down the road which my son enjoyed. A lovey place and great area.

Truly lovely Kyoto home experience

I only have one gripe, which is my stay was too short! Next time, I plan to stay longer to fully soak in and enjoy the beautiful space! This was my best experience in Kyoto, the Japanese beds were super comfortable, location unbeatable, and all amenities were great.
Restaurant Tip:
Many great restaurants nearby, including the modern and affordable Giro Giro. Also, Pontocho alley have a bevy of great selections!
