Overall, it was a good experience and I would strongly recommend to anyone planning to use the Kyoto station as the base for sightseeing around the region. For the price we paid with breakfast included, it was one of the best hotels I have been during my 11 days trip in Japan, staying at 4 different ones in various areas. As it was near the station, it's easy to catch the bus that goes to the main tourists attractions and food in Isetan is good too!
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Make sure you go to Kiyomizu Temple! You won't regret making the effort to go as it is really a beautiful temple with amazing architecture (as it was built on the cliff) and nice scenery. Along the way, you will go through alleys selling various souvenirs and interesting gadgets which you would probably end up taking longer time to reach than you thought you would! The shops themselves might be historic architectures too! Do provide ample time for the whole trip and make sure you go early else you would regret like me because at night, you can't take nice pictures of the wonderful place in front of you!

The location is great. Its 3 minutes walk from Kyoto station and next to a large Bic Camera store. A little far from Kyoto's main shopping and temples areas, but if you want to use it as a base to travel the region then it is great. The room is the tiniest I've ever been in in Asia. And I mean really, really tiny -- a one and half size bed and just enough room to squeaze around it. I banged my head a couple of times trying to get into the bed. But one can't complain too much at the price they charge. The room is clean and reasonably modern. They really cut everything down to the bone. But if it is just a bed for the night that you want then this hotel is a good choice.
- Shopping Tip : Excellent Bic Camera store across the street from the hotel.

Hotel felt a bit weary, good for business travellers on a budget I guess.
