Convenient location near subway.

Signage of Hotel is too small which may make it difficult to see the hotel.

Good location and less than 5 minutes walk from subway station. Food can also be found nearby. Comfortable, clean and reasonable size. Staff are very helpful and friendly and able to speak English. Rented bicycles can also be arranged for rental from the hotel. Books such as Lonely Planet-Kyoto available for borrowing.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Convenient as located near subway. Bus is also available nearby. Easy access to sightseeing attractions.

Good staff, relatively close to subway, reasonable walking distance to Kawaramachi-Shijo area

None

I would describe the Aranvert Hotel as a “business-plus” hotel (not luxurious but not a dump, with all the basic amenities). I can’t remember if there is a restaurant or not, but there is plenty of dining options around including a 24-hour McDonald’s if you are desperate. It is not in the midst of the main tourist areas but is close enough via subway or walking (maybe 10-15 minutes to Kawaramachi-Shijo).

Very quiet, easy access from Kyoto Station, helpful and kind staff who spoke English. Convenience stores nearby and vending machines available in the hotel.

I found the carpet in the hallways a bit scruffy, but apparently clean. The beds were made with lovely linens and fluffy comforters, but the mattresses were a bit too hard for me. Also, as a hotel in a city full of international travelers, I wish there had been at least 1 channel in English.

I would recommend the hotel for a couple or a single. I don't know what size rooms would be available for a family or group of more than 2 traveling together. The rooms are small, but fully appointed, with a mini-bar fridge ( tiny space for a bottle of your own wine or a beer or two) and a hot pot with cups for green tea. Bring your own coffee, as the set up is only for tea. I enjoyed my stay, and would recommend the hotel to others.

Hotel Feature Tip : To reach this hotel, you travel one stop (to Gojo) on a local subway line. The directions for easy access are to leave from Exit #2 and walk 3 blocks straight ahead. If you have luggage though, this means no escalators and several medium flights of stairs. To get around this, go out exit #6, face the street and go L 1.5 blocks. Cross the street and you are at Exit #2 !

Friendly, helpful staff with good English Very clean rooms with great beds and latest hot water bidets Good location central to everything and transport

The talking lift began to bug me a bit after a few days

Stayed six nights and found it very comfortable. Good size room with controllable air conditioning temperature and opening window.Cleaned thoroughly every day and a nice firm bed. Bathroom a good size with everything supplied. No English channels on the tv and the breakfast was a bit expensive at 1750Y so I did not try it. Booked on internet it was much cheaper than the normal rate and I think it was excellent value for money.

Shopping Tip : Easy pleasant walk to the main shopping area

Kettle with green tea in room but it would have been nice to have coffee available as well. Good food at reasonable price in restaurant, although bar closed at 10 pm.

Pleasant looking hotel from the outside with an impressive reception area and friendly staff. But in terms of value for money it is overpriced compared with the hotels we stayed in during the rest of our trip to Japan. We relocated to Osaka to find a better standard of accommodation and travelled into Kyoto each day using our Japan Rail Pass.

Don't know about food since we had just a room without meals.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can reach Kyoto Station & Tower, Nishiki Market and Gion ob foot. About 10-20 in walk. Near to Gojo subway station (2min walk), two stores 2min away (both opened 24h).

Overall a good place to stay. For a large group, getting taxis around is quite affordable, and much more convenient than waiting for buses and trains.

I would recommend this place to people who aren't so fussy about their stay. It didn't have anything "flashy" but it won't disappoint you.

At a subway from JR Kyoto The hot water bath on the top floor in a kimono

Noisy in the morning: cleaning service

Hotel location, staff speaks English, can rent a laptop for internet connection but you can connect to his prize, if there was no cable, ask the reception, it lends. Bathing hot water on the top floor is very relaxing and very Japanese! Possibility to wash her laundry and dry at the laundromat, 13 th floor.
