Good location. Close to Bus stop and train station.
Free Broadband internet access in the room.
Restaurants and Convenience shops are nearby.
Can't find any western restaurants or McDonald nearby
When I arrived at Kyoto Station from Tokyo. The first thing was to visit Tourists' information center at the station. They provided me with the City map as well as the Bus route to the Hotel. Went to Bus stop A3 on the north side of station and catched Bus 206. It costs 200 Yen. Got off at the bus stop close to the Hotel. It's only few minutes walk. Room was not big but adequate with twin beds. The hotel is not the pick-up point for local tour. Have to go to nearby Hotel for pick-up.
Hotel is central to few points of interest,
such as Nijo Castle,Kyoto Imperial,Tenryuji Temple,Kikakuji temple(Golden Pavillion). They can be reached by either Bus or train. The 1-day Kyoto tour costs 11,600(including lunch) yen per person. If you want to save money, travel by bus or train yourself will still get you to the place you want.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Around the corner of the hotel, there is train going to World Cultural Heritage Tenryu Ji temple and Kikakuji temple(The Golden Pavillion). It costs 500 yen per day with unlimited travel.

good location for public transportation, bus and train.
restaurants and shopping nearby.
room was small, but adequate.
staff at desk not very helpful, no advice on sightseeing, tours, etc.
no English language cable channel.
The Ark was adequate, quiet, but expensive for the small room we had. Bathroom was fine. Food in restaurants was expensive, so found places in the neighborhood. It would not be high on my list of places to stay in Kyoto.
Restaurant Tip : Tilly's coffee shop is near the train station in the next block, fine for breakfast or just hanging out with a book and coffee.

The room was good. The staff was friendly. The environment was beautiful.
TV with at least one English speaking channel would be good. It is, however, most foreigners who live there and the Japanese is difficult.
The hotel is central located. There are many shops outside where you can buy. The bus stop was close. Bus transport is important in Kyoto. It was a calm atmosphere at the hotel. Very good with free Internet in the lobby. The room was very tidy. The facilities in the lobby café, for example, very nice and pleasant. The staff at reception speak good English and it is important for tourists.
