I don't like this hotel. We requested early check-in but they said they need to charge 1500 per hr. When we asked whether there is room available they said yes but they need to charge 1500 yen for 1 hr. I understand this is their policy but I think this is too harsh after all we paid premium rate during the golden week hoilday. If we check out 2 hours earlier will they refund 3000 yen to us? Since we paid HK$2,600 for 2 nights I think they should be more felexible. Too bad.

Quite expensive but it was "Golden Week".

right next to a street of eateries and shopping. great on weekends to take a stroll down and look at the boutiques. rooms were slightly bigger than tokyo and we were very please with our rooms

I would totally recommend this place to anyone going to Kyoto. It's incredibly central and perfect for sightseeing in the central area. The female staff are fantastic and incredibly helpful. Not entirely sure why there was a split, but we found the 2 male staff we spoke to non-committal and not inclined to helpfulness at all. Rooms are small but thoughtfully laid out. The only downside to the hotel is that there is no driveway and porters so lugging heavy luggage was a bit of a pain since the taxis will only stop on the main road outside.
