Amazing location in the JR station, on 2nd floor,
Amazingly convenient location, comfortable rooms
9.3
You could not find an easier hotel to stay at, if you are staying in Kyoto, and using it as a base for travel throughout Japan.
The rooms were very nice, the only downside is that pool entry is 1050 yen per person, despite paying your room-mate it is NOT included.
The rooms otherwise are fantastic and they offer both wifi and ethernet internet.
Avoid the htoel restaurants and go straight to Isetan and The Cube food courts on 10th and 11th floor (in the very same building only 100m away!), they have many many restaurants choices, perhaps 60 or so.
The concierges here are AMAZING!
Restaurant Tip:
The basement market also offers excellent choices, especially for sushi and sashimi at bargain prices.
Checkout Isetan B1 B2 B3 for great food! Amazing to look at their supermarkets and how they blow anything else in the world away!

Great hotel, and perfect location for travelling
Great location, modern, excellent staff
9.3
The hotel location is very conveninent, as it is in the JR station.
ISetan the large department store is just across from the hotel inside the same complex.
The hotel is advertised as having lovely lap pool and spa facilities. The only problem with this this is that guests are expected to pay $13 USD per person, per use, in order to try these facilities.
We were very dissapointed about this as we planned on swimming every day. Since we travelled as a couple, and with our two children in their 20s, this is a significant other expense.
Despite this our experience at the hotel was very good, the concierge helped us greatly.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The En tea ceremony in kyoto is certainly worth doing. The Japanese lady who hosts it is very lovely.
The Nishiki market must certainly be one of the best things to do in Kyoto, and is air-conditioned despite being semi-outdoors, so very comfortable. Many great thigns to eat and shopping to be done.

Excellent location and spacious rooms
Great location, grand hotel, great shopping within the building, comfortable and specious rooms, clean and tidy and very friendly staff offering great services
9.7
We are very satisfied with the hotel throughout our one week stay. Our room is very spacious and clean and comfortable, complete with all the amenities. Staff always have smiles on their face and are very friendly when approaching and serving guests. The hotel is really popular as it is busy all the time, people check in and check out, and yet the service is still very good. The choices of eating places within the hotel and the terminal building are many and the varieties are good too. Great location and if you want to enjoy the sightseeing and shopping, this is the perfect hotel to stay in. Would stay here if I come back to Kyoto again.

Excellent location and grand hotel
Spacious rooms, handy location with access to train, subway and the Shinkansen, friendly staff and greets shopping within the terminal building where the hotel is situated
10
Transport is so convenient as the hotel is located within the Kyoto Statiom. The terminal building is magnifienct combining shopping, dining, hotel and transport for the benefit of its guests. The is the best part about the hotel. We took the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto Ststion, when we arrived, we walked to the hotel without any problems. Staff was very helpful with our requests such as sending our luggage to Kansai Airport and posting some items on our behalf. We can access almost anywhere from the Kyoto Station, it is also very close to Gion, which we took a taxi to. Opposite the hotel within walking distance is the Kyoto Tower and Yodobadashi which is the equivalent of Akiharaba electrical shop in Tokyo. The rooms are really big and comfortable. Will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who visit Kyoto and who appreciate the points I have mentioned above.

Good location & services, free wi-fi, huge rooms
9.7
granvia kyoto is located right at the kyoto jr station, which is very convenient for us who was a first time traveler to japan and not using any tour at all. very easy to find and since it is located at the station, taxi drivers know it and easy to travel everywhere using the trains.
rooms are huge and very clean. excellent services. will definitely stay here again!

Great location and adequate size of hotel rooms
It is located right above JR station

for first time visit to kyoto, the location of the hotel was really what i wanted, because the hotel is connected to jr train station. i can reach kyoto easily with the train. then i go anywhere in kyoto by walking or riding bycicle. so convenient. we can also find many nice restaurants in the station, including one of my favourite, which sadly i forgot the name but they have green tea jelly that we eat with vanilla ice cream and red beans.

Lovely hotel and great location

we were able to get into our room before the normal 3pm check-in as we were exhausted from our 11 hour flight from europe. the staff were all extremely helpful and very polite. the location is fantastic as you have trains, buses and taxis right at the front door. shopping centre also in the same building is amazing.
Restaurant Tip:
The Food Hall in the basement of the shopping centre is amazing and you can eat at a few of the stalls. Recommend Cafe 551 - very reasonable and delicious food.

this is the best location you can find in kyoto. immediate access to jr, bus, subway, shopping and restaurants. good size rooms and superior services. have stayed in the hotel in the last two trips to kyoto. likely to stay in it again next time to visit. ask for the rooms that can see the kyoto tower. didn't get it this time, which is the only complaint.

Great location, great restaurants
9.3
You literally do not have step outside to get to this hotel from the train station. There are so many shops, restaurants, etc. at the train station, and there is so much to see there- it was raining a lot while we were in Japan, so it was nice to be able to see so many things while staying close to our hotel. Room very nice, very elegant, and hotel restaurants, while expensive, were worth every penny.
