Small rooms but standard for Japan. Right next to Kyoto station (JR, subway, bus). Coin washing/drying machines. Restaurants nearby. Onsem right beneath Kyoto Tower (right next door). Yodobashi separtment store (right behind) with 7 stories of goodies plus a good supermarket on level B2. Staff understands enlgish better than other better hotels we stayed at.

i really would like free, reliable wifi in my room. this would not be difficult or expensive to provide, and would make a huge difference for a foreign traveler with a smartphone.

convenient location right at the kyoto jr station

the hotel is situated right outside the jr station (after crossing the city bus terminal). the rooms are larger than those of typical japanese hotel. many restaurants within 5 min walking distance, and there is also a lawson (convenience store) close by that was filled customers at 11pm, where you can grab soft drinks or takeouts late at night. the location of the hotel is such that it can be used a the base for visiting sites in kyoto (using the city buses from the bus terminal), osaka, nara (30-50 min train ride on jr). very happy with the location, price and quality of the hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip:
hotel lobby has wireless service and kyoto visit brochures, decent priced public laundry and vending machine inside the hotel building.

the hotel is just opposite the kyoto train and bus station which brought great convenient to travellers with heavy luggage. also, you would then able to move around since all buses / trains / subway is terminated at kyoto station. the hotel do provide free wifi but only limited to their lobby area. the staffs are friendly as other hotel in japan.

Having stayed at other hotels in Toyko, I found this hotel to be "slightly" larger, but much cleaner and up to date. The staff spoke excellent English and the location was just perfect. Being directly across the street from the main bus terminal and the subway saved a great deal of time. Having a supermarket and multiple restaurants within a very short walking distance made this hotel an excellent choice. The hotel also had a great selection of travel books and even notebooks filled with information about each shrine & temple to include recommended routes and information about the easiest way to get to each attraction. I highly recommend this hotel as an affordable, clean, and travel friendly location.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
You have an option for just a bus pass or a combined bus and subway pass. We chose the combined pass and found it more useful.

Every people Greeted me with big smile, every time I had eye-contacts with them. The room was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Everything I need was already there; shoe brush, tooth brush, dryer, comb and even febreeze for my stinky cloth. The room was small but nit.
I stayed several hotels in Japan but this hotel is one of my favorit.
Restaurant Tip:
There is small McDonald near this hotel so you can have nice cheap simple breakfast.

This was a great choice for us, in that we wanted to have a hotel that was in the middle of everything. This location is within walking distance to many temples, as well as a short walk to the bus and train station. Breakfast wasn't included, but we could easily locate many places around the hotel that offered meals. If we return to Kyoto, this will be our first choice!
