Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Good location but room is a bit old
Good location for going around for sight seeing, and itself is a major shopping spot. Tons of restaurant for choice.

The hotel has with many rooms and staff are helpful. The room I booked under Agoda is old (but acceptable) and slightly smaller. Compare with the same type of room in the hotel my friends who booked through other travel agency.

Nice clean room. Well located in Kyoto, easy to get to the subway. Hotel isn't really charismatic but quite pleasant and the staff are friendly and will give you some advice on where to go.
Restaurant Tip:
Sushi train over the road is great value for money.

The location is just in front of the bus stop, very close to City Hall with good view, and also from the city center. The room is very nice, the staff speaks good english, and they provided free wifi in the lobby.

Quality hotel in heart of kyoto.

Very comfortable room. Very spacious for japanese standards with front lounge and separate bedroom. No gym in this hotel is a Bit odd given its quality. Location is very good. 2 mins from subway and 5 min walk to pontoncho / shijo kawaramachi. Front desk hotel staff are polite but would not say overly interested/enthusiastic.

The room is very clean and comfortable. Reception is friendly and very approachable. Location is also very good which is near to lots of restuarants and shopping areas. Bus stop is just outside the hotel which takes you to lots of places of interest.
Shopping Tip:
the Nishiki market is within walking distance from hotel and is a must thing to see. Their wet market is absolutely different from ours here and is really an eye-opener.

Lovely hotel in a great location
Family and children friendly hotel.
8.3
We booked 3 nights in this hotel for the first half part of our Japan trip. I chose this hotel because of their family/children friendly policy (kids 11 years and younger can stay for free with parents)and the proximity to subway station and shopping/sightseeing in the city area. The twin room is clean and spacious for my family of four. The beds are like double size and can sleep 2 comfortably. The room has a small sitting area and table by the window and there's enough space for our lugagges. The bathroom is big with separate bidet and necessary toiletries.
The location is fantastic, just a few steps from Kyoto Shiyakushomae subway station and within walking distance to several places of interests, such as, Nishiki market, Pontocho and Gion. Very accessible as bus stops are just outside the hotel and there are plenty of restaurants and convenience stores around the hotel.
Checking in and out was very easy. Staff are friendly and can communicate well in English. They are able to answer questions and provide information when needed.
We enjoyed our stay in this hotel and we'll stay here again if we come back to Kyoto.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Make sure you visit Arashiyama and ride at the Sagano Romantic train. The view is very beautiful and while there, walk along the bamboo forest. Geisha/maiko spotting at Gion corner. Walk along Higashiyama distric and sample local goodies on your way to Kiyomizu Temple. Visit Nishiki market, it's very colorful and interesting place.
