Very friendly and efficient staff, rooms where clean, comfortable and had nice views. The location was great and very convenient to everything as well.
Rooms are a bit on the small size, but typical for Japan, we didn't mind really.
We booked our stay at the Kyoto Tokyu Hotel last meinute when another hotel didn't work out. The staff were very friendly and helpful from the minute we arrived and went out of their way to take care of us.
The room was very clean, quite and secure and we actually had quite a nice view. We enjoyed all the ammenties (tea, slippers, etc), and even had our luggage stored free of charge after we checked out.
It was very centrally located in Kyoto - we found it very easy to take the bus and taxis from the hotel to anywhere we wanted to go.
I would highly recommend this play to everyone.

Great location, beautiful inside and out.
Hot in the room - weak airconditioning system
The hotel is on the list of hotels that the tour companies stop at for pick up. Others on the tour had to walk in the rain to their hotels. The staff were very helpful and friendly
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : I recommend a tour bus because there is so much to see and do and the tour provides transportaion and information that may be difficult to do on your own.

Restaurant Tip : must try the Chinese restaurant even though you are in Japan. They accomodated my request for low salt without sacrificing on taste and quality.
