Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Service was excellent
Bathroom is large and spotless
Decor is pretentious
Lobby fountain looks tacky
Too much French provincial when you appreciate Japanese aesthetics
Rooms and mattresses could use updating
After staying at a Sunroute hotel, the Nikko Princess did not fare well by comparison--much more expensive yet the value is not there--the hotel does have wonderful service and any request is promptly responded to--we had a problem in a nearby restaurant and the hotel staff intervened and explained the situation to us--but the decor of the hotel seems like an imitation of "Fancy western"--the beds are not that comfortable--the bathroom is spacious--if that is what one is seeking in Japan--I was more impressed with the good use of space at the Sunroute Tokyo Shinjuku--
breakfast buffet was OK here but nothing I would recommend--Sunroute buffet was awesome--if you want to feel like you're in Japan this is the wrong hotel!

Pricey. Conventional hotel - read: usual
It's pricey. But it may have been due to the New Year's Eve celebrations. Walking distance to Kyoto's main sighseeing spots. Only about Yen900-1000 from the JR Shinkansen station. 20 minutes walk from Kyoto JR station, less than 5 minutes to subway.
The room was normal, average.
