Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Big room and huge bathroom. Quiet hotel. Good location for buses to Kinkakuji and Nijo Castle.
No one knew it.
Had to pay for the gym.
Gym policy is too strict.
Every taxi driver we asked to take there had no idea where it was, we had to carry a map to make it easier for them.
The gym, although pretty good, has a VERY strict policy on tattoos, if they spot your you're out! Luckily i got away with hiding mine and no one was the wiser. I know the taboo of having tattoos in Japan but in an international hotel these rules should be relaxed.
You also have to pay 1000 yen a day to use it which I don't think you should have to do.
The pool was out due to an earthquake, fine - not thier fault but no apology was offered and I still had to pay the full amount.
Restaurant Tip : There is a Starbucks a few doors down from the hotel and the staff there are really nice.

- Price
- Good enough conditions
- Too hot inside, you really need to use the air conditioning
I was happy with the conditions of the hotel, except that the room gets too hot if you turn of the air conditioning. The clerks speak english very well.
It's not in a very central location. I would rather have something closer to the train station. But it has a metro line that gets you fast to the center, and the bus takes about 20 minutes to get to the train station.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use the bus network, it's the easiest way to get around Kyoto. A bus pass costs 500yenes per day. Get a bus network map.

Active and vibrant neighborhood. Close to public transport. Restaurants/bars abound.
Rooms, while booked/billed as 'doubles' were singles in reality. Understanding that this is the norm in Japan, it nontheless needs to be pointed out.
Our overall experience was positive. The hotel staff were friendly and made every effort to ensure we had a good stay. The hotel rooms, while meeting the standards of Japanese busbiness hotel room size, were clean and well-equipped. The internet LAN connection was fast and trouble-free. A LAN-connected computer connected to a printer is available in the lobby so you can print out airline bookings, etc. The neighborhood is somewhat removed from central Kyoto, but the public transport system is easily accessible. The best deal is the daily bus pass available at any convenience store for 500 Yen.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Daily bus pass, available at convenience stores, for 500 Yen.
