Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

good service and high speed internet
7.7
i like service there, most of them can't speak English (only 1 man that can speak english, i think)but they tried to help and explain with body language. onsen is nice but you can find better place in tokyo. this ryokan close to station that 1 station away from gion the popular street in kyoto. however, in kyoto you have to wait subway for a long time i suggest you to walk to gion. i don't like breakfast in ryokan. i think it's too salty, you better find restaurant outside. overall, i like it here but i wouldn't go back because it's too expensive.

Great opportunity to experience Japanese tradition
Service, friendliness and onsen
9.7
My kids are 13 and 15 and they loved the experience. Traditional rooms with outlook over Kyoto, lovely decor, comfortable futons, fantastic deep wooden square bath for soaking in, lovely onsen (open late) and Kaiseki meal in room served in the traditional way by your hosts.

For the real Ryokan feel
Ryokan experience, Great staff, Authentic
7.3
Seikoro is a great option if you want to experience a real ryokan stay and at the same time still be able to communicate. The staff is very professional and has a decent level of English. We ate in our room one night, an experience in a Japanese setting. Beware that ryokan means that the bed is made in the evening on the tatami floor. The location is not close to any attraction or the station, but only a short taxi ride away. The staff was helpful with everything.

Authentic Traditional Japanese House
tVery authentic and traditional japanese style and design of the room and hotel, good customer service.
7.7
If you want to know how does it feel like to be a real Japanese living in a typical traditional japanese house, this is the best choice! Their friendly staff even help you to carry your shoes and put in the shoe rack the moment you enter the house. it was a very good experience and they serve traditional japanese rice breakfast in your room. But the down-side is, the check-out time is too early. if not mistaken is 10.30am check-out time and they will come inside the room to see you pack your stuff and keep reminding you that it is time to check-out if you don't leave the room on time! And they do not entertain late check-out request.

Extremely polite and courteous staff
Friendly staff, convenient location, quiet surrounding
8.7
This was an extremely memorable hotel experience for my family, showing traditional Japanese hospitality and family life at its best. The warm welcome from the staff every morning before we leave the hotel and when we come back to the hotel really make us feel at home and ease. It is also very conveniently located (walking distance to a street full of restaurants and close proximity to most tourist attractions). This is my second time to stay at this hotel. There is no doubt that I will stay here again the next time I visit Kyoto. I would recommend paying up to get a bigger room and nicer experience .

Fanstatic place - a real experience
Genuine feel of traditional Japan
9.3
Staff were incredibly helpful and polite.
The Ryokan was great - straw floors, slippers, hot baths, impressive traditional food. A real experience.
