This is one of the first boutique hotels in Kyoto. This hotel is located just minutes from the Imperial Palace. Good location but overrated
location, helpfull staff,

Location is very good. Room cleaning a little wastefull as in spite of us asking to have bedlinnen not cleaned evry day, they continued to do so. Same for towels and even bed slippers.

Exceptional small hotel

Small hotel but hardly anyone there. Felt quite empty. Not all staff had great English.
Food was fabulous. Brilliant breakfast with amazing perfectly ripe ten fruits, and superb evening meal.
Huge room with biggest most comfortable bed imaginable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Kyoto is absolutely a fabulous calming, inspiring city. Just wander around any temples, shrines or gardens.

I stayed in the design room. There were trees printed on the wall and pillows for you to lay under it. The bathroom including the bath itself was also very spacious.
Restaurant Tip:
Turn right at the entrance of the hotel and you will find food and shops. The bars are parallel to the river in a small (walking only, no cars allowed) lane-way on the city side of the river.
