Chisun Grand Sasebo Hotel Nagasaki Info
Centrally positioned close to shops, parks and the Sasebo River, this hotel provides modern, Western-style rooms within walking distance to the center of town. A five-minute drive from the JR train stop, the Chisun Grand Sasebo is an affordable and pleasantly-decorated hotel with free internet, oversized rooms and toilets with more functions than a washing machine. Bars – both Japanese and US-style – are within stumbling distance of the hotel and guests with too many Yen on their hands will find the kilometer-long “Ginza” arcade only a block away, where one can buy anything from a kimono to a rabbit. English-speaking staff are happy to assist with travel plans – be they to the nearby Sasebo Park or to Dutch theme park Huis ten Bosch – and the limousine bus from Nagasaki Airport stops a two-minute walk away.

close to US Navy base (short walk) and downtown. Large comfortable room and helpful staff.
Bed pillows have small hard black cylinders (plastic?) sewn into one side. No idea why, but they're not soft pillows to start with, so it was hard to sleep on.
This is a great choice if you're staying in Sasebo. The room was surprisingly large and well appointed, and it's close to everything. The staff was more than willing to help in any way I asked (learn a few words of Japanese and practice your charades skills. They'll work with you!)
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The nearby walkway along the river/inlet/canal is terrific! Watch the fish jump out of the water and bellyflop, do some bird or people-watching, or just sit in the adjoining park and admire the cats. It's also the fastest way to get to the Navy base.

Reasonable sized rooms, free internet in room and from computers in lobby, one english speaking channel on tv (better than most hotels I have stayed in, in Japan). Very close to shopping arcade and beautiful international/ Japanese food market in bottom floor of mall.
We were given a smoking room despite requesting non-smoking.
We initially thought this Hotel was in Nagasaki City, with an address of "Chinsun Grand Hotel Sasebo, Nagasaki". Sasebo is actually a city 2 hours north of Nagaski by train and is home to many foriegn Naval ships who dock there from time to time. You won't find this place in your lonely planet book but I must admit our stay at Chinsun Grand Hotel ended up being a pleasant one. The hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. I enjoyed the free internet in the room and the hotels close proximity to a shopping arcade 2 mins walk away. Hope this helps.

THe friendly service shown by all their staff
I could not find any weakness in all areas they were up to my expectations.
What can I say the hotel was above my expectations, It is the second time I have stayed there and I hope it will not be the last, I would recommend it to any one, the rooms arespacious and clean, and the cleaning service is done promptly and efficiently. Well done.
