The hotel location was on the big map outside the Nagasaki train station so it was easy to find and about a 5 minute walk. The room was clean and had complimentary green tea and tatami mats and futons for a traditional Japanese feel. The staff was welcoming and provided maps and suggested places to eat and sight-see.

Very Pleasant stay at Fujiwara Ryokan Hotel. Very Clean and Roomy. Owners are very nice and polite but speak little English. The Hotel is located slightly uphill so those with heavy luggage need to be prepared to haul it uphill.
There is a great cafe nearby that serves a nice Toruko rice.

This modern ryokan is 10 minute walk from Nagasaki bus/train station. Last part is uphill, so may not be best for those with lots of luggage. Owner's English is minimal but adequate, yet he is very enthusiastic and helpful. Tatami room was quiet and very clean, but be certain to request non-smoking, if you want it. Shared bathroom was not a problem. Japanese breakfast for those that like it, was very good (miso soup even had enoki mushrooms in it). Would recommend and stay here again,
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture is just a few blocks down the street from this ryokan and worth visiting (stays open late). Also, Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium is definitely worth a visit.

Un ryokan de charme

En sortant de la gare il faut marcher un peu (10 minutes) ou prendre le tramway qui vous emmène juste en bas (100 mètres du ryokan).
Au départ on doute un peu de la qualité de l'hotel et on se rend très rapidemment qu'on est tombé dans un endroit typique plein de charme et vraiment authentique.
Le couple de propriétaire est très sympathique et parle très correctement anglais. Le wifi fonctionne bien. Il y a un petit resto dans la rue qui descend de l'autre côté de la rue des tramways. Foncer!
