the hotel outside appearance is a bit old, but it is just for the style of building.
and it is a bit far from nagasaki station (you have to take tram twice)
but overall it was good, I had a comfortable time there.

i stayed in this hotel for two nights. the rooms are very beautiful and it is located right next to a tram stop, so it is easy to get to. it is in the southern part of the city, but very close to all the sights, chinatown, restaurants, etc.

Lovely hotel and helpful staff

hotel is easily accessible to china town, glover garden and the dejima wharf. rooms are clean and the staff were very helpful. we had problem setting the gps and one of staff called up the car rental company on our behalf and help to solve the problem. she also contacted the ferry terminal for us before we depart to check on the timing.

Amazing Hotel very freindly staff Huge rooms.
Close to Trams, great facility's, short walk to shianbashi, very well refurbished hotel

I stayed here for two nights, the rooms were huge for Japanese hotel. The staff spoke good English and were very helpful. I would stay here again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Go to the American bar in Shianbashi the owner is American and lots of fun.

we found the hotel monterey nagasaki to be very nice. the hotel is clean, the rooms large, and the staff very helpful. we would certainly stay there again. the hotel location is sort of away from the center of town, but that just means its quiet. there is a trolly stop just one block away so accessing the city's main spots is very easy. we only had two complaints. first, we do not recommend that you eat at the hotel. it is way overpriced and there are many great restaurants close by. second, the hotel does not have laundry facilities. there is a laundro-mat about two blocks away, but i believe a hotel of this size should have something for its guests.

There was too much furniture stuffed in the room, but the room was lovely. Actual shutters for the windows, tiled floors, etc.
