A short walk from Dejima island, Glover Hill and Chinatown, Jal City Hotel is central to all, including Nagasaki’s frenetic retail area. Located in one of the most convenient spots possible, this hotel allows guests to discover what really makes the city unique – from having a quiet moment in Peace Park to getting lost in throngs of shoppers in Hama-no-machi Arcade. The limousine bus from the airport stops two minutes down the road and the JR Nagasaki train station is a five-minute trip by cab. Rooms aren’t palatial – this is Japan, after all – but they’re more than adequate for providing a restful night’s sleep without having to stumble over bags to use the bathroom. English-speaking staff are more than happy to direct guest to 100 Yen stores, sake bars or places for a romantic hillside rendezvous.

large room, convenient location
we were really pleased with this choice. the photos on the website do not do it justice. the rooms are large and airy. the location is excellent - walking distance to Glover Gdns and restaurants of Shianbashi.

Good first impression....several good restaurants close by.
Room smelled a little like tobacco smoke
From the information booth at the Nagasaki train station you can get good directions easily. The street car from the station is only 100 Yen, so take it. That will get you within a few dozen meters of the hotel. The room was small, but comfortable, and a good bargain. Located next to the Dejima Historical site, you can get anywhere in city easily.
