Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

Majestic Hotel Nagasaki Info

Reminiscent of a cliff-side villa on the Italian coast, this boutique hotel has a great location and grand aspirations. An architectural reminder of Nagasaki’s myriad cultural influences, the Majestic Hotel also reminds guests how hotels ought to be. Some tourist attractions close to the hotel are the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, Mount Inasa, Nagasaki Peace Park, and Glover Garden. Located in Miname-yimate, the tram stop is a few minutes’ walk away, and from there it is a 10-minute trip to JR Nagasaki station. Cab rides to the station or the Peace Park will cost less than 1000 yen from here, while views from the Majestic’s charming breakfast room are worth the price of admission alone.

Spacious rooms, good views of Nagasaki harbour from the rooms, attentive staff & close proximity to Glover Gardens

Expensive restaurant & limited choice of local dining in walking distance

This hotel is European in style - not a sterile international hotel, but not Japanese style either. Very comfortable, spacious rooms (largest bathrooms encountered in our travels in Japan). Clean and comfortable, friendly attentive staff, but the restaurant is expensive and there is not much choice for local dining in walking distance. Glover Gardens (beautiful and great views of Nagasaki) are right behind the hotel

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Glover Gardens nearby - don't miss it.

A nice little hotel (for someone else) Guest Rating: 7.3

Great price, location, and view. Very friendly staff.

No internet access anywhere. All rooms allow smoking, ours smelled of cigarettes.

We were prepared to like this hotel based on other reviews. It is right next to the ANA hotel and is conveniently located near Glover Garden and Oura Catholic Church. The view from our room was very nice, although slightly obstructed. However, we found, to our dismay, that there is no internet access in the room (although advertised as such) or anywhere in the hotel and our room smelled of cigarettes. There are no non-smoking rooms in this hotel. Because of the lack of internet access we checked out after the first night and moved to the ANA Gloverhill next door. Although nicer in many ways (and having in-room internet access), we were sad to leave the Majestic. Its view was much better (no view of the bay in any room at the ANA) and in all a very nice hotel. We just weren't the right people for that hotel. If lack of internet access and a slight cigarette odor don't bother you, this could be a very nice hotel for you. Agoda's willingness to work with us on our issue impressed us and we will definitely use Agoda again in future trips to Japan.

Restaurant Tip : Across from the Majestic and ANA is a splendid building in a Chinese style of architecture. Restaurant Shikairo is on the fifth (?) floor with great champon and sara udon and a commanding view of Nagasaki Bay. We ate there twice, highly recommended. A great value for the money.
