great location and everything i needed
the hotel is close to sakae subway station. sakae is a great shopping district. there is a starbuck directly across the street.
10
the hotel name had changed between booking and arriving so identifying it was a fun challenge. the staff were very helpful and they had no problem accepting the hotel voucher. the hotel is immaculate - in fact the whole of nagoya is the cleanest city i've ever been in. the room is a typical size for a salaryman hotel. the bathroom had the lovely shower toilet japan is known for. the shower/bath was hot and had plenty of pressure. the queen bed was comfortable. there is only wired internet, but it is included in the price. i stayed 6 nights.
Shopping Tip:
The Mitsukoshi department store is 3 short blocks away at the entrance to Sakae subway station. It has the most amazing food floor I have ever seen - Harrods has nothing on this place. Even though I don't speak Japanese ordering was easy and the staff all very helpful.

Nice business hotel 5 mins from Sakae station
9
Arrived late and staying just for one night, with this price, you cant ask for more. The Chisun Inn Sakae is 5-8 mins walk from the Sakae station, and 10 mins away from the busy nightlife area that you can find food, drinks, bars etc even after midnight. Hotel is right across from Best Western which you will pay double the price. Chisun staff are nice when checking in and only took a few minutes. The room I stayed in has a window looking out the street, and trust me, windows are not a Must in these Japanese business hotels, always great to have one with natural light coming into the room in the morning.
They also seemed to hv wifi on each floor(saw the router) but I preferred to use my own portable Wifi anyway.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you walk towards the other side or Sakae station, around 10-15 mins from hotel, you can find food, bars that work till late after midnight. Also the TV tower n Oasis 21 is exactly at the station.

The price is not very high. The overall comment is OK. Bascally, the room is clean. The daily using accessories is OK (eg: soap, toothbrush). However, the outisde view of some bedrooms are not very good. The hotel location is a bit of far and not very near from the subway station. It will be better if this hotel is availabe to provide the Wi-Fi services.

Good Business Hotel amidst Shopping/Entertainment
near to shopping, near to entertainment, friendly staff, good tv
7.7
We decided to stay at this hotel because it was reasonably priced and in Sakae, the shopping/entertainment district of Nagoya. At first, it was really confusing trying to find the hotel from the subway station. It is kind of hard to orient yourself around the station if you are a first time visitor to Sakae. I recommend you take a taxi to the hotel (it is right next to a Mos Burger). Otherwise it'll be a confusing walk and tiring (if you have a lot of luggage).
Once at the hotel, the staff were very friendly and polite. We got our room keys and went up to our rooms. We had 3 singles. The rooms were average size for a business hotel. They were dated and worn looking but not dirty. I liked that you could control the bedroom lights next to your pillow. The television had a nice selection of channels. The bathroom was small, but this is to be expected of a business hotel single.
There was enough room in the single to have two suitcases open constantly and still find room around them to move about. When you leave the hotel, you must hand over the key to the front desk. When we returned the staff had changed but they handed over the keys without asking for ID. So either they have our faces memorized, or they are trusting.
Other guests are drunk businessmen (at night) or tourists. This is not a place for socializing. The internet worked great in the room. After the first night we put "do not disturb" signs up so they wouldn't clean the room (we thought it would be more eco-friendly.) The cleaning staff was so nice they left us each a small parcel outside our doors with clean towels and pajamas.
Overall, if I needed to stay in Sakae again and was on a budget, I might stay again. But it wasn't much different from a Toyoko or Tokyuu Inn. If you are sight-seeing, it is better to stay around Nagoya Station.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you're looking for a nice break from the Nagoya hustle and bustle, take a car for a drive out to "Inabu" a small town area up in the mountains about an hour's drive from Toyota City. They are (one of the only places in Japan) famous for blueberries in the summer. They have great blueberry omiyage (goods and souveniers) at their "michi-no-eki". Fresh blueberry jam, ice cream, juice, tsuyu for somen, etc. They also have a famous onsen that is nice and fun. There are a lot of "features" in the onsen like massage onsen, out-door, wooden tub, etc.
