Great Location but do not look for ambience

This is one of the funniest places I have ever been. A real "vacation factory". Disney squared. If you look for ambience, do not go there. If you look for a good variety of food from ramen, pizza and burghers to sushi and French/Italian, nice slopes of every kind, perfect snow, all areas/rooms with Wifi, the typical friendly and helpful Japanese staff and lessons for the kids in English, it is a good place to go.

Great Skiing, "Different" resort

The skiing is great, but the resort/hotel itself is a little bit like somebody built Disneyland Vegas and then took out all the glitz and dumped a couple of meters of powder snow on it.
It is neither a western experience, nor a Japanese one. It is a Japanese mimicing of western experience. You know you are somewhere strange when there is an October fest themed restuarant that has an animatronic ump pa pa band! I found the Japanese food there below average and the imitation italian/german/french/american was really bad.
Best food was from the mountain restaurants at lunch.
Restaurant Tip:
Eat lots of pork steamed buns on the slopes.
