This impressive looking hotel is situated next to Osaka Station and is ideal for guests looking to discover the sights and sounds of the city. The hotel is within easy reach of several modes of transportation including the subway station and visiting, local shopping centers and markets and there are complpimentary shuttle buses that transfer guests to the nearby Universal Studios of Japan. The Granvia Hotel boasts a whopping 650 guest rooms all of which include modern amenities including a large TV which doubles as a monitor so that guests can easily check their email and keep in touch with friends and family. There are a whole host of dining options to choose from including many excellent restaurants situated on the 19th floor ranging from the breakfast buffet to French, Italian and Japanese eateries as well as a comfortable lounge bar to enjoy a cocktail.

I didn't even have to leave the train station which is good for me because I am rolling around my luggage from train to train and thus don't need to go far. The inside of the station can be a little confusing especially with some new construction problems (which may be gone by the time I go back). The room was clean and spacious and the view of the city was nice. Internet is always a plus. Breakfast was delicious and had good options both Japanese and Western. Was going to skip the local train to the main bullet train station and take a taxi, but the staff couldn't seem to find one and I eventually just ran to the train fearing I'd miss the bullet train. That left a bad taste in my mouth, but in the future I will stay here again and just plan on hoofing it.

very obliging & friendly staff BUT limited English
We bought a 7 day JR rail pass 7 went somewhere different everyday-Hiroshima, Himeji, Nara, Tokyo, Kyoto, Kobe & Nagoya. The Granvia is the perfect place to stay as the lobby is on the ground floor of the Osaka station near the central exit. You only travel one station to get to Shin-Osaka station where you catch the shinkansen bullet train to your desired location
Nightlife Tip : catch train to Namba station & stroll around Dotonburi district & eat octopus balls!!!!
