Rihga Royal Hotel, Osaka

I booked this hotel online, having stayed at the Rihga in Kyoto once before. I have to say that the price I got online was very reasonable, especially when I discovered it included breakfast. I have stayed in many donwmarket "business" hotels in Japan that cost the same or even more than this stay at a luxurious upmarket hotel. The room was very big and comfortable, with a nice view of the river, and the service and services available at the hotel were everything one would expect from a hotel of this class. The restaurants were expensive, of course, but there was a massive choice, and the two I tried for dinner (an Italian and a Tempura restaurant) were certainly very good. Rather than the buffet breakfast, I chose a fixed course breakfast which was -- astonishingly! -- varied, but just the right size. Overall, I chose to indulge myself a bit, but if I had wanted to save money I could hardly have done better than this accommodation. Outstanding value for money.
