Good location. In walking distance (with luggage) to the Sapporo JR station. 7/11 ATM (works with foreign cards) right next to the hotel. Room was clean.
Doors to the hallway not sound-proofed at all. AC did not work properly, the room was unbearably hot (30C) even with the settings at 15C and the outside temperature between 10-20C. So, so bed and pillow.
While the rooms are relatively sound-proof from each other, the doors are not! I could hear what was going on in the hallway as good as if I had been standing there. When a neighbour unlocked and open their door, it sounded as if they were opening my door.
The room was unbearably hot despite the thermostat being set to 15C and the AC set to max. The outside temperature was 10 to 20C, but I couldn't open the window. One night, it went up to 30C!
The Sapporo Grand Hotel markets itself as a fancy hotel but really it is just a large business hotel. I have been at other business hotels in Japan, and they were much better, and cheaper.
The location was very convenient and the room clean.
The hotel was not bad, but it was not good either. I might go back, but I would definitely look for a better option first.

Everything worked, and stationary was beautiful, and there is a Starbucks caffee in the same building. Reasonable location, 10 minutes walk from the main railway station, and from the Odori (Broad Street) underground station.
Breakfast was a bit crowded and overpriced.
I would not call it a place where I would immediately want to return, but my colleagues were of similar opinion about almost every hotel in the vicinity. It was entirely reasonably priced (through Agoda but NOT through Expedia!) and there is nothing to complain about. "Value for money" says it all. For business it is excellent, but it is no holiday destination, if compared with "Grand" hotels in Europe or Hong-Kong.
