Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

A Sanctury For 2.
Wonderful breakfast, quietness and a sting of Japanese culture
8.3
It feels like a melting pot for all things Japanese in this onsen hotel. The pride of the staff wearing Kimonos and customary greetings immediately emits the best of Japan hospitality. Added to this is a journey to Kaiseki fine dinning experience and inclusive breakfast. Their presentations will truly move your heart and palate. The exclusiveness of the location offers you a retreat from the meddling crowd beneath its hill.

Great ryokan on a budget with brekkie included
The staff were lovely and helpful although English was not very good. Breakfast was traditional Japanese and was fantastic. The hot public bath was clean and high standard.

My stay was very comfortable traditional Japanese style. Lovely views of the mountains and the city below. Main centre approx a 15 min walk and 20 min walk to train station. Plenty of shrines and temples to see! Great service, although there was no dinner so you have to go into the town for dinner and food supplies. A bit tricky to find by foot the first time so definitely get a taxi. Great experience and value for money. I would definitely stay here again. They also offer a shuttle drop off at the train station on check out. I arrived by bullet train and it was 800 yen for a taxi. Easy trip to the Hida folk village from the station. If you are rushed for time you would still see plenty with an overnight stay with an early arrival, late departure by bullet train. Two full days or two nights would be best though. Beautiful town...
