Cheap, good location

Rooms are small. No wifi. Pay Internet.

The hotel was cheap for Tokyo and the location was good, only a five to ten minute stroll to Rappongi. Rooms are small by Western standards. Could barely manage to sit down in washroom. There is no wireless and you had to pay for Internet. Otherwise, a nice place to stay.

small and uncomfortable but decent location Guest Rating: 5.7

Good location, decent price for location, relatively friendly and helpful staff, free, fast Internet in room

Single room was tiny--I didn't fit at the desk and I barely fit in the shower. Bed was uncomfortable. Lots of noise.

I've stayed at many hotels around Tokyo and several in the Akasaka area. I picked this one because I wanted to stay in Akasaka, but wanted to save money--and they had a good rate for multiple nights. I regret not spending a little extra for a nicer place. The room was a little too small, even by Tokyo standards. They provided exactly one bottle of water per day and you had to carry soap upstairs from the front desk, since it wasn't in the room, which seemed a little strange. The bed was hard and uncomfortable, with only a very light blanket. The front desk also insisted on keeping my key every time I went out, and then made me wait in line to get it when I came back. The wallpaper was peeling, and what's worse, it seemed like the whole place was under construction--there was noise every day for hours, starting at 9am, even on Sunday! The walls were paper-thin so there was no way to escape the noise. I had to listen to the cleaning staff chatting in the hallway all day too. At least Akasaka is a great neighborhood. This hotel is slightly less convenient to the shops and restaurants/bars of Akasaka Mitsuke than hotels closer to the Akasaka and Akasaka Mitsuke subway stations, but it's close to the upscale, brand new Akasaka Sacasu shopping area, and it's a short walk to Roppongi. There are plenty of great ramen, Chinese, Korean, and sushi restaurants all around the Akasaka area.

Restaurant Tip : Akasaka is one of the best neighborhoods in Tokyo for food. There's tons of upscale stuff, such as the restaurants in the Akasaka Sacasu plaza just up the road--I recommend the Chinese Diner, Dragon Red River, and their killer Tan Tan Men. Check out the ramen shops along Akasaka Dori (Tokyo Ramen, Arigato Ramen), as well as some of the smaller izakaya on the side streets. Finally, Akasaka is known for its Korean and Chinese in particular--take advantage of it!

very clean, cheap, close to akasaka's main area

doesn't have direct transport to/from narita airport

The hotel was good for the price. Clean but small rooms/tiny bathroom. The location is good -- close to subway. The hotel doesn't have director transport to/from narita airport. Close to korean town -- you can walk from the hotel to the main area of akasaka as well. taxi's are readily available. Akasaka is close to rappongi if you're looking for nightlife. Overall, good hotel for the price you pay.
