My wife and I have stayed at the Asakusa View twice, and will probably stay there again. The rates are very reasonable and Sensoji temple and Kappa bashi are within walking distance
The hotel is clean, the rooms are big (for Tokyo), great service, many good restaurants in the area, and true to the name the upper floors have a great view.
It is not centrally located. While there are 3 subways within walking distance it takes about 25 minutes to get to central tokyo.
- Shopping Tip : Great souvenir shopping at Kappa Bashi (everything you can imagine in terms of kitchen/culinary related items), and the Sensoji temple Nakamise.

Internet access was free, something you don't get in some of the big 5 star hotels.
A real great neighbourhood and something for everyone in an extremely clean friendly area - and plenty of people of all ages move around on bicycles.
- Nightlife Tip : Try the small Samurai Bar across the road from the hotel - great friendly staff and they make a great Samurai curry.

Not for the 'rich and famous' but for the money you get much more than you expect.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Asakusa Kannon Temple and the temple shopping area within a few blocks walking. As you face the hotel, on the right just one block away, there is a grocery store and on the left one block away is a great Japanese family restaurant. They speak English and are very accomodating.
An excellent ratio of price to quality

Nice location, walking distance through quiet backstreet from major museums at Ueno. Nice cheap restaurants in the area.

I did find the location so central for my needs of 3 days in the area, lovely view of the temple at night, perfect for walking everywhere which is hotel's major plus.
Hotel is in best location, middle of the road for comforts and styling, bit basic but value for money at end of day. Rooms were in need of a bit of renovation.
Hotel could benefit from major uplift.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : perfect for walking the temples and shopping alleys.
Great view and location

very nice service and location, though a renovation of the building would be ok
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : next to the hotel is a groceries shop with normal prices to buy snacks, breakfast or dinner.
