Great hotel 1 minute from the metro - huge rooms - great staff - not as modern and new feeling as some places but overall a great choice for Tokyo

Stay at hotel Avanshell Akaska in Tokyo
Large rooms . One does not expect to get large size rooms in Tokyo. It was clean and had all the standard features.
6.7
The hotel was very good and located near so many eating places. The super market was just opposite. The metro was 5 min walk. The hotel staff were polite and very helpful. No breakfast is available in the hotel but this is not a problem as there are many cafeterias nrxt to the hotel.Truely my stay was good and the tariff was reasonable. Once you reach the hotel you will find the place easily accesable to all parts of Tokyo.
Restaurant Tip:
ONE CAN CHOOSE FROM ALL THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CUISINE OF THE WORLD. IT IS LOCATED IN AKASAKA

Lovely hotel, great location.
Quiet, good value, large rooms, great bathrooms, wonderful service, free internet (lan cable), helpful staff, super central location, amenities on doorstep, tons of restaurants, coffee shops and several metro lines in walking distance.

The hotel is just a stones throw from the Akasaka metro on Chiyoda line. The best way to the hotel is from exit 2, take the immediate small pathway on the left as you emerge onto the main street. Walk to the end of the foot path and you will find the hotel directly on your left. Ok so its not the most modern, happening place, but for Tokyo, is is above standard and using Agoda we got an incerdible deal. We found it to be very comfortable and a quiet safehaven in this hectic city. The mini kitchen inroom came in very handy and additional toiletries, linen, robe and slippers very good quality. All in all, no complaints.
Shopping Tip:
Food Express round the corner turned out to be the best value and overall best quality for fruit, food and mochi. Walk a few more mins down the road to Tameike-sanno or Aoyama-itchome or Akasakamitsuke to have access to Marunouchi, Ginza, Toei Oedo and Nanboku metro lines. Its quicker and more scenic to walk to Roppongi. Cabs are extremely expensive!

We loved it
Rooms are larger than mainland hotels we've stayed at
8.7
We (my daughter and I) loved our hotel. The room was very large, the toilet was wonderful with all that warm water and warm toilet seat, the cleaning people did a great job each day, water bottles were added every day, there is a refridge, hot water, instant coffee, tea. Even a little freezer. When we needed directions, the staff was very helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who was going to Tokyo. Near enough to walk to the subway (about 5 - 10 mins max). The price was so reasonable. We were so pleased.

Great Stay!
Location, price, lots of decent nearby restaurants
8.3
The staff were friendly and spoke good english, the location was great (a short walk from Akasaka station) and the rooms were clean, spacious and quiet at night. The value for money is second to none (I haven't found anything remotely as good in the same price range) and the nearby restaurants and bars aren't bad either.
Restaurant Tip:
If you get a chance, pay a visit to the quaint little Mexican restaurant down the road from the hotel. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Big room, good location.
Big room and good location
8.7
The hotel is located within 2 minutes of walking from the Akasaka Metro Station no.2 exit. The room is big and clean. There are restaurants nearby which open late into the evening. The hotel staff members are polite but it seems that there is only one person on duty who speaks English. Knowing a little bit of Japanese will be more convenient if one stays here. Staying here is good value for money. I'll stay again in this hotel if I visit Tokyo again. I recommend this hotel.
Travel tip:
There is a map outside Akaska Station exit no.2. One c.an locate oneself and find the hotel from the map

Great Tokyo Experince
Very central location in the city, quiet oasis in a busy district
8.7
This hotel had gorgeous rooms with lot of space. It is in a very busy district of the town, but it's not noisy at all. Only a stonethrow away from the subway and other public transport. You can easily walk to Roppongi. Altough you may first not consider as staying in Akasaka during your visit of Tokyo, you should reconsider this location. It's great.

After arriving at Avanshell after a long days traveling we were pleasantly surprised at reception for the ease at which we were greeted and treated. The staff were all very friendly and spoke enough english to help all our enquiries. As it was our first hotel stay on our first trip to Japan we weren't sure how good the accommodation was until we arrived in Osaka to our new hotel it was then that we understood the term "business hotel", Avanshell is not a business hotel rather a holiday hotel and we cannot recommend it highly enough.

Handy location + very large rooms w/ balcony
This hotel sits on top of Akasaka subway station and is surrounded by round-the-clock restaurants and shops. The hotel rooms are very large for Tokyo standards. Upper floors have sweeping views over skyscrapers.
8.3
The reception at the hotel is very friendly though English is not spoken by many of the staff. It has a small-scale feel but has the largest rooms with balconies that I have seen so far in standard hotels in Tokyo. The place is ideally located on top of a subway station and is surrounded by a lot of 24/7 restaurants and shops. It is not a noisy neighbourhood. We had a room with beds under a window, and we suffered from a nasty draft on your face when in bed. We were offered blankets to cover the windows, but it only helped a bit. All in all a very good and economic place if you want a large room to walk around in, with a balcony and a kitchen sink w/ microwave (ours wasn't working but we didn't care for that) and internet + satelite tv (cnn).
Shopping Tip:
The FoodXpress is a 24/7 supermarket with fresh foods and anything you may need at any given moment of the day or night. It's down the alley next to the hotel. There is also a large book store next to it.
