The Chisun Ueno Hotel is within a short walking distance of Ueno Station and the Ginza Metro subway line. It is a convenient base location for your stay in Tokyo. We accessed tourist attractions within Tokyo using the subway and train system. We also took a day trip to Kamakura using the JR train line out of Ueno station. The trip was straight forward using the JR travel scheduler. The hotel room is a little small by American standards but adequate for the two of us. For a family of four the room might be a little small. The staff is friendly and speaks adequate English for quick check in and answering any questions that you may have. The price is quite reasonable for the Tokyo area. There is a pay laundromat located on the street behind the hotel for doing laundry. If visiting Tokyo again, I would stay at the Chisun Ueno Hotel.

The hotel is an easy walking distance to Ueno Station and the Ginza Metro Line. I would recommend using a map search to locate the hotel if arriving at Ueno Station. Staff was friendly and spoke understandable English. The bathroom was not large by American standards but was adequate. Overall the Room was adequate for the two of us and was cleaned daily. Hotel was a convenient location to access major tourist attractions in Tokyo. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel.

During our stay in November the the air conditioning was turned off and room was warm. We had to open the windows which is a plus but street traffic noise was loud. Noise decreased after midnight.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you like bargain shopping, Ameyoko arcade was within easy walking distance. Many restaurants are located there amongst the many shops selling almost everything.

The hotel is 5 minutes from Ueno Station which has lots of shops and good, cheap eateries and sits on the Yamanote line which serves all the major areas of central Tokyo.

• Travel tip : Ueno Park is very beautiful, especially at cherry blossom time, and also has excellent museums close by.

I chose this hotel for the closeness to Ueno Park, a place with a lot of things to visit and also for the commodity of the Ueno JR (and Metro) station. You can go easily everywere from here.

• Shopping Tip : There is a nice street market close to the hotel in direction of Ueno station.
