Clean, comfortable, Western-sized rooms
Small issues with certain hotel policies
Food in coffee shop was expensive and not very appealing
The Grand Prince is a large, imposing building on high ground near Japan's government office complex, the Diet. Easily accessible by three subway lines. The surrounding retail areas have adequate dining choices, although mega-shopping opportunities are a mile or more away.
Agoda had good price savings off the rack rate. The rooms were large by Japanese standards. Every room has a nice view. High floors have spectacular, panoramic views. Beds (twins) are hard but large. I reserved a king bed, but didn't get it. Discount cards for 20 percent off meals were not enough to offset the relatively high prices for unimpressive food. 40th Floor restaurant had impressive views. Biggest complaint was when I extended my reservation by a day, they wanted me to check out at 11 am and check back in at 5 pm, or pay 3000 yen as a "bridge" payment for those hours, to stay in my room. I was able, after much heated discussion, to argue this down to 1000 yen. Book this hotel only with Agoda; rack rate is uncompetitive.
Restaurant Tip : Many good restaurants are clustered around the Akasaka-Mitsuke subway station, which is a short walk from the hotel.

Decent size room, excellent views, good location next to major subways
Bathroom a bit smaller than expected, small tv
Got upgraded to a suite but the suite was basically the same size as a normal size room split into a bedroom and living room! Initially taken back at a suite that wasnt really the size of a normal suite but after getting use to it, wasnt too bad as wife likes to sleep early and I got to watch TV without bothering the wife. Fantastic views from 29th floor of Tokyo. Good value when considering the location as Akasaka one of the best places to explore Tokyo. Hotel close to major subway. Would stay again.

For breakfast at the Skybar the tables were not convenient (too small).
We were very satisfied with our stay at Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka. Especially the location was ideal. The Akasaka entertainment district is in the closed neighbourhood and due to the two subway stations nearby almost every point of interest within the city could be reached easily.
The staff in the hotel was very friendly and ready to help in any case. English conversation was no problem at all.
We got a very spacious (at least for Tokyo's conditions)and comfortable room in the 22nd floor and had a wonderfull view over the city.
